Rick Jacobson's throwback film to the wonderful two-breasted double-barrel Russ Meyer films of yesterday, Bitch Slap, is now showing off its boobs and blood via a batch of new stills, and of course we've got them right here ... hot and juicy!
Bitch Slap, which stars Julia Voth, Erin Cummings, America Olivo, Michael Hurst, Ron Melendez, William Gregory Lee, and Minae Noji, is described as follows: A post-modern, thinking man’s throwback to the B-movie exploitation films of the 1950’s-70’s as well as a loving, sly parody of the same. Inspired by the likes of Dragstrip Girl; Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill; Kung Fu Nun; and the pantheon of Blaxploitation films, Bitch Slap will mix girls, guns, outrageous action, and jaw-dropping visuals with a message ... don’t be naughty!
At its core Bitch Slap follows three bad girls (a down-and-out stripper, a drug-running killer, and a corporate power broker) as »

At last weekend’s press junket for Ninja Assassin, I had the opportunity to speak with producer Joel Silver twice. The first time was an exclusive TV interview, and the second time was during a roundtable interview the following day. While I normally would be happy to use just one of the interviews, since Joel Silver is producing so many high profile projects (Lobo, Sgt. Rock, The Apparition), I knew getting to speak with him twice would be a good thing.
Also, what a lot of people don’t realize is how much info a producer can tell you. While it’s always great to talk with an actor, unless you’re a Brad Pitt, most actors don’t have that much juice to get a project made. So that’s why getting to speak with Joel Silver is so great, because not only can he talk about all his projects that are getting made, »

Coming into the theatres in wide release with all the joie de vivre of a little boy trying to please his girlfriend and mother, Fantastic Mr. Fox is yet another trump card in the quality animated and family film derby of 2009. Like all of Wes Anderson's pictures, Fantastic Mr. Fox dances between meaningful and artificial. Often the directors detractors spend too much time on the latter, and perhaps miss the immense character detail revealed in their diorama surroundings and meticulously selected wardrobes. Of course the stop-motion technique selected to animate the film threatens to enhance the artificial, but somehow, the animators have transcended the challenge put to them to tell the story this way. This is simply the right way to do a Wes Anderson Joint (or rather French Cigarillo). Do the simple thought exercise of imagining this film as a 3D CGI or 2D cel animation affair. After »

After being in the music industry for 50 years and causing many a pelvic thrust, British Indian composer Biddu has now switched to writing. He is now penning his autobiography and two novels.'I've come over (to India) basically to talk to Harper Collins, to discuss the little aspects of the promotion of my autobiography, which is coming out in January next year,' Biddu told Ians in a phone interview from Mumbai.'I've called it 'Made In India'. It's almost like an adventure story about my life and, when you read it, it's quite incredible and hard to believe. It's also humorous because I have written it in that style,' he added.Initially the sexagenarian was apprehensive about penning his autobiography.'I wanted to remain private. But the publishers said my life's been an adventure and no one knows about, not even my wife. So why don't I write one? »

"Ninja Assassin" Warner Bros. Pictures I am an action movie fan. I readily admit it. Growing up watching TV shows like "Kung Fu" or movies such as "The Killing Fields" from a young age, I learned quickly the difference between campy and impressive when it came to fight scenes. "Power Rangers" is campy. "The Bourne" series is not. I put "Ninja Assassin" is the same category as Matt Damon's action-spy thriller trilogy. However, the plot isn't the high point of the movie, which is set to hit theaters Nov. 25 in the U.S. and Jan. 8, 2010, in the U.K. The storyline definitely plays second fiddle to the fast-paced action scenes. If you can handle the gore -- think gruesome Quentin Tarantino style movies like "Kill Bill" -- then you'll love watching each swipe of a blade, kick and punch as it's delivered. Moviegoers won't have to wait long for the action to start. »

MoviesOnline caught up with Korean pop star Rain at the Los Angeles press day for his new film, "Ninja Assassin.” The film is directed by James McTeigue from a screenplay by Matthew Sand and J. Michael Straczynski and produced by Joel Silver and the Wachowski brothers. “Ninja Assassin” also stars Naomie Harris, Ben Miles, Rick Yune and legendary martial arts performer Sho Kosugi.
Rain plays Raizo, one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge.
The role of Raizo called for an actor with a special intensity, who could convey a lot of emotion in a very subtle way. »

Paramount and Scott Rudin are teaming together for a new Christmas comedy that will feature battling Santas. Mike White set to write the script for the film as well.
The comedy is based on the true story of rival factions that developed within a union of professional Santa Clauses who became arch enemies during a Santa Claus civil war. Rudin will produce along with Mike White and his Rip Cord Prods. Rudin and White worked together previously on School of Rock and Orange County.
I am sort of Jack Black fan and could totally see him in this movie and what would be funny is to have Seth Rogen in the other faction and they are both the rivals.
I love Christmas movies as an Fyi, so I am somewhat excited to see this film and hear more about it as it gets developed. Lastly, I am kind of miffed »

Good news comes in three for "Chuck" fans. Beside the announcement that the show will return earlier than the initial schedule, NBC has also unleashed a sneak peek and a poster to the third season. These triple treats add to the excitement that the show has been expanded from 13 to 19 episodes.
"Chuck" which was almost canceled after the second season will return on Sunday, January 10 instead of March like the Peacock has planned previously. Even better, fans will be given two back-to-back episodes on the premiere. After that "Chuck" will be moved to its regular slot on Mondays at 8/7c starting right on January 11. In other words, it would be a two-night and three-hour premiere in January. However, "Chuck" will be pre-empted for the Olympics on February 15 and 22.
Zachary Levi appeared in the third season preview, thanking loyal fans of their support that keep him in the job. He also »

While Twilight was a guilty pleasure, its sequel New Moon just made me feel guilty. Guilty for paying a sitter, guilty for the gas I wasted, and guilty for buying into the Twilight phenomenon to begin with. A wretched excursion into franchise baiting, New Moon is flat out an embarrassment for everyone involved.
Briefly, if you don’t know the story of the sequel, Bella Swan is a mortal in love with a vampire, Edward Cullen. Towards the beginning of New Moon, Edward realises that it is too dangerous for Bella to continue seeing him, so he pretends that he doesn’t love her anymore and disappears. Bella behaves like a petulant infant and doesn’t leave her room for months because she is a narcissistic, co-dependent teenager.
When she finally emerges after months of alienating friends and family, she sidles up to Jacob, a local boy of Native American descent, »

There are few people that are aware of the growing movie market overseas. Thailand is emerging as a serious threat in the marital arts action genre with the help of Tony Jaa (Ong Bak); Russia is proving they can make a slick and entertaining film thanks to studios like Disney (Black Lightning); and, of course, Japan has always been the source for many Hollywood studios’ “inspired” horror remakes (The Ring, The Grudge). One foreign market that tends to be brushed off as only doing kung-fu or martial art films is China.
Today we have a trailer for a new Asian film which has the odd IMDb genre label of romance/sci-fi called Ci Ling (Treasure Hunter). Why are we at Screen Rant sharing this trailer with you? Because Treasure Hunter stars an actor most English-speaking audiences may not be familiar with yet, but will be next year: Jay Chou. Chou »

Various clips and images for Rick Jacobson’s cleavage-heavy B-movie homage “Bitch Slap” have been circulating for over a year now, a number of which have appeared on this very site. However, yesterday several trailer-centric websites debuted a slightly retooled promo for the upcoming “Sin City”-esque actioner, leading me to believe that the picture may, in fact, be creeping closer to a release date. If you’ve already seen some of the older trailers floating around the ‘net, chances are this isn’t going to show you anything you haven’t already seen. The rest of you are in for a serious treat. Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, rock band Skillet recently released their seventh studio album, entitled Awake, which features the single "Monster". Skillet is currently on tour, but lead singer John Cooper took some time out to write a Top Ten list of his favorite monsters, both in the movies and real life, and has offered to share it exclusively with Dread Central's readers.
1. The Alien - This is one of my favorite movies of all time and the scariest monster ever made as far as I'm concerned.
2. Darth Vader - Not necessarily a "monster" but my favorite villain anyway. His costume, voice, and breathing are absolutely legendary.
3. The Predator - I love the Predator because you watch half of the movie without seeing what he looks like. Then, when you think you have seen it all, he takes his mask off and beats the crap out of Arnold. "Get to the chopper! »

Killer Imports [1] is a regular feature on Film Junk where we explore foreign-language films from around the world that haven’t yet had their chance to shine. Whenever I appear on the Film Junk podcast and review a film, I invariably have a negative opinion. And when I write film reviews for the Film Junk web site, I invariably have a positive opinion, even for films that many Film Junk readers would consider bad. The discrepancy has to do with the fact that I don’t get to choose which films to review on the podcast. I find it easier to give reasons on why I like something rather than why I don’t like something. So for me, writing a positive review is easier to write and seems more worthwhile since someone may be influenced by a positive review to watch a film that I feel deserves attention. No »

The music game formula is nothing new. Start out with a plastic instrument and pick a song. Successful completion of a song unlocks more popular but increasingly difficult tunes. For your sequel, include the ability to play as various famous recording artists, both living and dead. Lather, rinse, repeat. Occasionally pick a specific band and focus a game around them (i.e. Beatles Rock Band) or them and the music they inspired (like when we found out that Van Halen somehow relates to Third Eye Blind).
So what separates Lego Rock Band from the rest of the pack? Personality. Anyone who has picked up Lego Star Wars or Lego Batman sees that something special that Lego-izing a popular character or moment can bring to the screen. The unique and quirky humor of seeing a stormtroopers explode in to a pile of brings or watching the »

Zhang Yimou promises some comedy in his remake of Blood Simple, which will hit theaters in China on December 11.
In an interview with the Chinese web portal Sina.com, subsequently translated by the Associated Press, the director of Hero and House of Flying Daggers described his film as starting off as a comedy, then gradually morphing into a thriller.
"The audience is watching the movie happily, laughing out loud, then it slowly changes, but the transition has to be funny," Zhang said. "That's very hard to do. I think I did a decent job. This is the first time I tried to bridge the two styles."
The film, called San Qiang Pai An Jing Qi in Chinese, centers around a noodle shop owner who plans to kill his cheating wife and her lover. As was the case in Blood Simple, the plot spirals out of control; however, the original revolved around a Texas bar owner. »

No matter which comics faces you may have been following on Twitter this weekend, they were most likely watching the World Series, "V" on SyFy, "Mad Men" or all of the above. Dan Slott and Frank Tieri fell into the first camp, and it seemed like most of the Marvel office was pulling for Alex Rodriguez to earn his salary when he stepped up to the plate. A-Rod's game-winning double was matched in tweets by Yankee's fans only by Johnny Damon's double-base steal.
Meanwhile, the SyFy "V" marathon had Ben Templesmith and Brian Reed's attention. Evidently comic book people like TV shows about alien invasions. Go figure. Check out what they had to say, as well as who was watching "Mad Men," and what Stan Lee had to complain about on Halloween.

The sequel to the multi award winning Donnie Yen biopic based on the life of Grandmaster Ip Man, picks up right where the first movie left off (Ip Man escaping from the Japanese). This time the start of the movie will focus on Ip Mans battle with another Kung Fu Grandmaster(Sammo Hung). It seems Sammo and Donnie are starting to make quiet the partnership as Sammo will also be appearing in the 14 Blades as well as previously facing off against Donnie Yen in Spl (also directed by Wilson Yip) »
