How fitting. Here we are, Jason's birthday, and who comes in to do his Never Sleep Again interview? None other than Freddy Krueger himself, the great Robert Englund!
Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy officially began lensing on August 22, 2009, in and around Los Angeles. Starring and narrated by Heather Langenkamp, star of the 1984 classic A Nightmare on Elm Street and two of its sequels (1986's Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and 1994's Wes Craven's New Nightmare), this thrilling 90-minute retrospective promises to be the definitive look at the making of the iconic horror series and the enduring legacy of its wise-cracking, razor-gloved villain: the indefatigable "bastard son of a hundred maniacs" known as Freddy Krueger.
Directed by Daniel Farrands and Andrew Kasch, this comprehensive look at the Nightmare films is written and produced by Thommy Hutson with Heather Langenkamp serving as executive-producer, Buz “Danger” Wallick serving as director of photography, »

Halloween tweets were way more interesting this morning since everyone was posting actual photos instead of just being indecisive about what to wear. "Twilight" star Billy Burke took the crown for most authentic, though, with his Sid Vicious outfit. He pretty much nailed the Sex Pistols' late bassist.
"Toy Story 3" director, Lee Unkrich, meanwhile retweeted a few incoming photos he received of well crafted character costumes. Gwen Stefani stood out from the pack in that batch, doing Woody's gal pal Jessie from "Toy Story 2." Then there was Fred Durst, who appears to have put a leg up on December, posting a shot of the Christmas tree he just set up in his living room. Check out all of those, as well as reactions from the World Series, Rob Zombie and John Stamos. They're all waiting after the jump in the Twitter-Wood report for November 2, 2009.

Some celebrities are obviously Irish - think Conan O'Brien, Denis Leary and Maureen Dowd, while others, like President Obama, are a little harder to spot. These undercover Irishmen and women may not “look the part,” but that doesn’t mean they’re any less Irish than a pale redhead with freckles. We present to you the IrishCentral top 10 list of the incognito Irish: 1. Chuck Norris The world famous Chuck Norris is usually thought of as an American badass who delivers a mean roundhouse kick to people’s faces. The Texas Ranger is the son of Wilma (née Scarberry) and Ray Norris, both of whom are of Irish and Cherokee Native American descent. In fact, Norris’ paternal grandfather was an emigrant from Ireland. 2. Christina Aguilera This genie in a bottle got lots of attention for her Latin name. According »

Guess who is back in the party circuit– it’s none other than the Bengali bombshell Riya Sen and she’s looking killer and raring to go.
Riya is back from a short vacation from Bangkok with her family and is looking stunning than ever. Generally people gain weight when they go for their vacation but this actress has maintained her svelte figure and surprisingly has lost oodles of weight.
In fact, Riya was cynosure of all eyes recently at Subhash Ghai’s party. Though she made a late entry because of her shoot, she looked ravishing and turned the heads of one and all present.

Hey, MattCanada here with this weeks queer cinema post. I finally got around to watching Another Country. It was not what I expected at all and this did affect how much I liked the film. My expectations going into the movie were of a spy thriller with a hefty dose of gay sex, not PG fondling. What I was confronted with was a drama which explores the British class system through the study of Guy Bennett's (fictionalised Guy Burgess) disenfranchisement from his class because of his homosexuality at an unnamed Boys Public School (read: super posh). The film is beautifully shot, wonderfully acted, and intelligently written - a Merchant Ivory film in everything but name.
Rupert Everett in his star-making role (first on stage, then on screen)
The lead actors are all strong, especially Rupert Everett's flamboyant toff Guy Bennett. Everett does not overplay him which is a »

Even with it's political mockery of a sham of a mockery of a travesty of two mockeries of a sham, this wouldn't have fared any better during the Bush era. Billed as a "political zomedy", it definitely had the political and the zombie, but the comedy which was at times Dumber & Dumber retarded, was mostly lacking or too obtuse for my taste. What started with a slow zombie outbreak and an introduction to our main characters quickly devolved into what could be loosely interpreted as "Have we not learned our lesson?". But when I say "loosely", what I really mean is they took the political mockery so far it lost it's point and ended up making me want to leave the theater.
However, there were some good points. First, the zombie »

Straight from screenwriter Shane Black's mouth to the content providing administrative screen of Ain't It Cool News, the Lethal Weapon writer has been hired to write a brand-new screenplay for a proposed Doc Savage movie. Guess who's producing this new attempt? None other than Star Trek/Transformers super-scribes-turned-producers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman.
Black communicated the news to AICN's founder Harry Knowles who also got told that this attempt will keep the character in his original time piece of the 1930s and also make sure that Doc's troupe of adventurers -- Ham, Johnny, Monk, Long Tom and Renny -- will be included. "It will be an original Doc Savage story that attempts to encapsulate the feeling of the whole collection of Lester Dent's work," writes AICN's poobah.

You gotta love a man who likes to clear the air. Harold Perrineau just rang up to kindly reveal an answer to our blind item—"Guess Who's Not Returning to Lost?"—which outed a former Lost star as a holdout to return for the final season. It's not him. Despite everyone and their mother's brother's lover (even the Los Angeles Times!) assuming Harold (Michael) was the Lost holdout, Harold reveals that he has not turned down an offer to return to the show. So does that mean he's coming back? "Honestly, no one has asked," Harold tells me. "But if I was asked to come back to Lost, indeed I would say yes. We all started that journey together,... »

This little black dress is obviously a big hit with the young Hollywood set. The strapless Camilla and Marc frock has shown up recently on not one, not two, but three rising starlets. AnnaLynne McCord of 90210 scores points for wearing it first back in August at a Nylon party—and for accessorizing it with bright red peep-toe pumps and a tiny neon purse. Guess who was the last to put on this party dress? It was Disney star Ashley Tisdale, who paired it with leopard-print heels and left her long blond locks flowing for the Los Premios MTV event last Thursday. Meanwhile, Glee girl Lea Michele left the wild shoes home and went for a more conservative look, with no jewelry, black... »

Once every seven years, thirty of the world’s most deadly assassins gather together and fight for the grand prize of ten million dollars – there can be only one winner, only one survivor.
Normally this genre of Battle Royale-esque movie is set on an exotic island, or a mystic m’larkey temple, and here’s why I knew I was in for something different right from the start, The Tournament is set in no-m’larkey-at-all working class Middleborough, in the rainy North of England. Scott Mann’s action packed debut feature stars Robert Carlyle as a drunken priest mistaken for a hitman, and the beautiful Kelly Hu as a real hit woman. For a $12 million budget, you get a good bang for your buck. There are a »

Have you seen The Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Either the 1974 Tobe Hooper original or the 2003 remake? Then you’ve seen Anchor Bay’s new-to-dvd Staunton Hill. Except it’s nowhere near as good as the trailblazing former or surprising, way-better-than-expected remake. In fact, while watching this flick, I said to myself, “Hey, that crazy, corpulent redneck woman reminds me of that crazy, corpulent redneck woman from the Texas Chainsaw remake and its prequel.” And—surprise! surprise!—when I checked out the actors’ names and credits, I discovered that the crazy, corpulent redneck woman in Staunton Hill actually is the same crazy, corpulent redneck woman from the Texas Chainsaw remake and its prequel: Kathy Lamkin.
That’s not the only familiar and imitative element of Staunton Hill, the second film from director Cameron Romero (Guess who his daddy is? Hint: It’s not James Cameron). The movie takes place in Virginia, 1969, as »

Bravo seems very serious about maintaining its fashion credentials after the loss of Project Runway to Lifetime. The network's PR clone, The Fashion Show might not have done so well, but Variety is reporting that the network has secured one of Project Runway's biggest personalities, diminutive season 4 winner Christian Siriano, for his own reality series, which will follow him as he sets up a new shop and markets his clothing line.
As a Siriano fan I see this as a positive development, though I think the boy will need to come up with some new catchphrases. "Hot tranny mess" has sort of run its course.
What do you think of this announcement? Are you looking forward to an enitre television series devoted to Siriano?
