Binge and Purge was a fairly enjoyable watch for me, despite its very low budget. I've read that Brian Clement is supposed to be a genius and although I would not quite say that, he does seem to be a great one for ideas. Binge and Purge is full of subversive witty moments,(like spooky electro Christmas songs) and these keep the film interesting, certainly more so than the barrage of gore that it throws in at regular intervals. There's a very nasty moment 15 mins or so in with a tramp and its typical of the movies gore, gross and entertaining, but none too convincing. Also, the acting, or rather, the characters brought the film down for me. I just wasn't engaged by any of the characters, and though damn fine to look at, I actively disliked the cannibal models. And I nearly always root for the psychos in horror movies. Still complaints aside, I got a good time out of it and it made me want to see more Brian Clement movies, so I guess I sorta recommend it.
