For all of it's twenty minute running time, Champagne Society is not only great fun, it's brilliant filmmaking. With a low budget and a great deal of imagination, Jonny Gillette and his cohorts crafted a fine comedy, richly textured, colorfully concieved and very well acted. It has the aspirations of a film like Rushmore or Amelie, and succeeds in capturing that spirit, albeit one of it's own, in every shot and every piece of dialogue. If you ever have even the slightest chance to see this film, see it. It's just plain brilliant.
