The best new show of the season!, 23 November 2003
Author: jellyneckr

Let's face it, almost every show on network television right now sucks. Shows today are terrible. The networks will put absolutely anything on the air. Perhaps that is why TRU CALLING is so refreshing. It is actually good. In a world where trash like THE O.C. and THE SIMPSONS are aired constantly, a show that doesn't make you want to bash your television set with a baseball bat has finally arrived. That show is TRU CALLING. It may not be the best show ever, but it certainly is the best show to air since FAMILY GUY got canceled. The fact that TRU CALLING is good makes me worry that Fox will cancel it as soon as possible. After all, Fox is known to only cancel good shows, not bad ones. Anyway, TRU CALLING stars Eliza Dushku as Tru Davies, a recent college graduate who works at the local morgue and discovers she can go back in time a day to prevent deaths. That premise alone makes it worth watching.

The greatness of the show is mostly thanks to very beautiful and very talented Eliza Dushku. There are few actresses out there like her. I doubt she will be nominated for an Emmy with this show, but she deserves one. At the very least she should get a Golden Globe for this show. I mean if so-called actresses like Jennifer Garner can win a Golden Globe, there is no reason why Eliza Dushku can't.
