This show has made so many fans since starting. It's even managed to convince some non-believers to believe in life after death. It also has it's fair share of haters. But love it or hate it, it's great entertainment. I'm one of the few who isn't overly bothered by the amount of screaming Yvette does- I think it's funny that sh asks a "spirit" to respond, then runs out of the room when something happens. She's got a lot calmer in the later series though, which is much more useful since you're watching the show to see paranormal activity, not a woman screaming and jumping at her husband. Derek Acorah is the cause of most arguments about this show. The truth is, he talks so much rubbish before giving any information, most viewers have turned over the channel long before he actually made his point. He needs to rant less about "I'm very aware of an energy in this room, but it's all residual, like a replay... because in this atmosphere, there are sometimes spirits if you know what I'm saying, Yvvy" and get round to actually telling us a name. David Wells and Gordon Smith strike me as more believable as psychics, and work well together. This show is full of comedy as well as paranormal investigation, including the funny moments when Stuart fell down a grave, Yvette screamed at her own shadow, and Derek strutted around Brannigans nightclub boasting, "THIS BELONGS TO ME!" A great show whether you believe or not. Long may it continue.
