I was at my home when I saw this documentary on RDI (a french canadian news channel). The documentary was produce in France in 2003. Spielberg speaks of his career, his film evolution, what he believes he has changed in the conception of movies, about his use of special effects in Jurassic Park, his collaboration with John Williams, we learn that he was the rights of Schindler's List since 1982 but he wants to wait to be ready to do it. In the first part of the 80's, he was doing action movie but not serious movies. In 1985, he has done The Color Purple and two years later, Empire of the Sun. Then, he was ready to do Schindler's List. This documentary goes in depth in the career of Spielberg. Also, he tells that Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan are influenced on the writings but also on what his family tells him (his grandfather and his father knew these events and told him when he was a child.) So, great documentary on this man who has done great things.
