Runaways Success With Brand New Trailer

18 December 2009 2:31 AM, PST | Screenrush | See recent Screenrush news »

Having some pre-Christmas hair doubt? Planning on chopping those locks in the new year? Well check out this new trailer for The Runaways for some ideas on how not to do your do.

The film, about Joan Jett's first rock band in the '70s, stars a teen-tastic line-up of Kristen Stewart (as lead-guitarist Jj), Dakota Fanning as scantily-clad sexy singer Cherie Currie, as well as Revolutionary Road's Oscar-nominated Michael Shannon playing slimy svengali to the girls as manager Kim Fowley.

The film is directed by lauded video artist Floria Sigismondi from her own script, which could seem like dangerous territory (Science The Science of Sleep anyone?), but this looks like one hot mess of a biopic.

In the clip you get to check out the girls playing as a band - and it doesn't look like they will disappoint - especially as the trail is cut to »

Sony Confirms Green Hornet Production and Casting Decisions

3 September 2009 6:34 AM, PDT | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

There are plenty of reasons for fans to be excited about the upcoming adaptation of The Green Hornet. For one, it's being helmed by Michel Gondry, who lent his visual panache to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Science of Sleep. So we can expect an eye-opener. Secondly, Seth Rogen has invested himself fully in the project: He will not only executive produce and write the script, but also star (in the title role, no less). But unfortunately, the big news as of late has been the movie's unstable release date. After being pushed back several times, the pic is now tentatively scheduled for a December 2010 release, much to the chagrin of rabid fans.

Not to worry, though, because Rogen, Gondry, and company are moving forward anyway. Screen Rant reports that Sony released an official statement saying that the movie is a go. We can thus assume that production will begin shortly, »

Name all the people you thought might take over from Stephen Chow in the director’s chair of Green Hornet. We bet you Michel Gondry’s name wasn’t on the list. But it’s true – Variety reports that the man behind Be Kind, Rewind, The Science Of Sleep and the wonderful Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind is taking the job. Terrifyingly Gnarly #10: Ace's High

23 February 2009 11:11 AM, PST | Fangoria | See recent Fangoria news »

“Give me a bucket of blood and a camera and I’m good to go!”

Who is Ace Norton? Someone who truly fits the description of Terrifyingly Gnarly, that’s who.

An interesting, immensely talented music video and commercial director, his work warrants your attention—urgently. Norton is currently one of the only people pushing and slowly joining the ranks of legends who have pushed the medium to the potential it could be used for. A bit of his résumé includes: two videos for Bloc Party, one featuring a bizarre plot to run the world by a large horse-headed creature (“Mercury”), the other, a classic man-in-monster-suit fight (“Flux”); a beautifully lensed video for Simian Mobile Disco, featuring incredibly hot girls transforming into creatures and vomiting; and the happily macabre “Why Do You Let Me Stay Here,” for Zooey Deschanel’s band, She & Him.

Norton and I are also in agreement »
