The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

We hear Alex saying, "C'mon baby, I like a little fat on my..." but we then see that he's dreaming about a steak.

When Gloria the hippo steps out of her crate, sea critters are all over her body including two starfish as a bikini top but she has none. She then says "Fun's over boys" and the critters jump off.

An old woman slams Alex the lion in the crotch and he holds his crotch saying, "LADY! What is WRONG with you?!"

Violence & Gore

The cargo ship makes a hard turn and all of the crates carrying the four animals fall into the sea (with Alex seeing that he's drifting away from the others). Alex is then tossed about inside his crate in the surf before being tossed out of it. Melman's crate then falls on Alex, while Gloria kicks her end of the crate that blasts Alex through the air and he and the crate side land on Melman (but both are okay and the whole thing is played for comedic manner).

Profanity

While no outright profanity is spoken, the film teases that some will occur, such as a character stating "Mother..." but then not completing it; another seems to be ready to say the "s" word, but instead says "Sugar Honey Ice Tea!"(first letter of each word still equals the "s word") instead; the word "dam(n)" is used with "Hoover;" a "HELP" sign breaks and then reads "HELL," and a character says, "DARN you! Darn you all to HECK!"

Alex is shot in the butt with a tranquilizer dart and then has another hit him in the paw (which causes him to hallucinate in something akin to a drug trip, played for comedy).

Without his staple of raw zoo meat, Alex starts seeing the others as fresh meat and then doesn't realize what he's doing when he bites Marty's butt. With his instincts in overdrive, he then chases after Marty (with the old National Geographic theme song playing on the soundtrack).

Various hyena type animals are after Marty who kicks one back, but the rest jump on him. Melman then does a Tarzan bit and rescues Marty, but they then slam into a rock wall (played for action comedy). The penguins then use a spinning object to send things flying out that hit the menacing animals.

A small duck is eaten. May upset some small children.

A foosa is used to attack other foosas by Alex.
