Ravi and Vijay's friendship was an example by itself. One was Life-Jaan, the other Jigar-Courage, the famous singer Ravi Kumar (Ayub Khan) and the daring Vijay Kumar (Manek Bedi). Vijay's mother looked after Ravi since his childhood; as such Ravi's life is indebted to them. It was said that nobody could separate the two friends. Vijay's father was died when he was very young and till today his mother had not told him that the reason for his father's death was Jaikishan (Jackie Shroff) who is hiding from Vijay. Jaikishan is dreaded by all the rich people and every poor man loves his name. Some times Vijay and Jaikishan do meet, but they do not recognize each other. One day Vijay falls in love with a girl called Meena (Mamta Kulkarni). The same girl, by the name of Minu falls in love with Ravi. Both Vijay & Ravi love the same girl, and one day Vijay comes to know that the girl whom he loves and who is his life is in arm of Ravikumar. Vijay's life come to standstill and from here begins a series of misunderstandings.

Vijaykumar and Ravikumar are close friends, so close that they are almost like brothers. They have similar tastes, habits, and character. They do have different passions though - Vijay excels in boxing, while Ravi in singing. One day Ravi meets an attractive young woman named Meenaksi and both fall in love with each other. Vijay, on the other hand, also meets with an attractive young woman who calls herself Meenu and both fall in love with each other. Hilariously Meenaksi and Meenu are look-alikes. While Meena lives with her dad, Ghanshyam, in Bombay, Meenu lives in the U.S.. Meenu departs for the U.S., promising that she will speak with her dad about Vijay, and ensure that they get married soon. A few weeks later, Vijay intercepts a phone call from an unknown male, who thinks that he is speaking to Ravi, and this is how Vijay finds out that his Meenu is dead, and that the person he has been seeing is actually Meena, and the person who has been pulling wool over his eyes is none other than Ravi.
