For a shoot-em-up movie, this is really well done.
It has quite the body count, but then, that's a shoot-em-up movie for you.
Very intense storyline. It never drags. No extraneous scene rambling. No extraneous dialog rambling.
Well written screenplay. Well directed. Well edited. Well acted.
Definitely not a movie for the kiddies, no happy, dancing teletubbies. But for an adult in the mood for drama, this movie is quite the gem.
I can't decide if the cruddy transfer to tape was a plus or minus. The graininess sort of added to the grittiness, a sort of cinema verite with someone recording the happenings with an old cheapo 8mm homemovie camera. At least the sound came through quite clear.
