Trivia:

While it is true that all players with over 2,800 hits are in the Hall of Fame, remember that it is the baseball writers who are responsible for voting them there. Stan Ross makes a point of telling the writers that they can't keep him out of the Hall, and they prove him wrong. In fact, they could have deliberately kept him out until the Veteran's Committee elected him.

Goofs:

Anachronisms: The glove used by the pitcher in the 1995 game when Stan hit his 3,000th hit was a Rawlings "Pro Preferred" model. This model glove was not available at that time.

Quotes:

Big Horse Borelli: You know, a lot of people said that Stan only looked out for himself, that he wasn't a team player. But I'm here to tell you, if you get 3000 hits, you don't have to be a team player. If you have a lifetime .314 average, you don't have to be a good guy. Bernie Mac & Angela Bassett did Their Thing

Enjoyed this film primarily because of the great acting of Bernie Mac,"Guess Who", and his girlfriend in the film, Angela Bassett,(Maureen "Mo" Simmons),"Sunshine State". Bernie plays the role of a super baseball player who winds up having to prove himself all over again in the eyes of the Hall of Fame Judges. There are plenty of laughs and some very warm and sexy scenes with "Mo" who plays a CNN News reporter who has interviews with Bernie and has a quick tongue in response to his remarks about being in love and wanting to tie the knot. If it were not for the above mentioned actors, this film would have fallen completely on its head. Thanks Bernie Mac !
