A new promotional poster for West End show, entitled "Calendar Girls", has been released. In the shot, the play's star Kelly Brook is seen wearing nothing on her body. Her breasts and private part are only covered with some iced buns.
Daily Mail claims the poster that features Brook has been edited for three times before it is outed. Previously, the 29-year-old beauty posed holding two small buns in front of her chest. And since Transport for London (TfL) bosses consider the picture inappropriate to be shown to the public, they have ordered to make the buns larger. "[TfL] are worried about titillating customers," the show's producer David Pugh says.
Last month, it was announced that Kelly Brook would take on the role of Celia aka Miss September, who was initially occupied by Jerry Hall, in "Calendar Girls". The character is described as a trophy wife who gets married to a »

Disney shrunk Miramax at the beginning of October, getting rid of about 75% of the work force. It wasn't a major studio with thousands of employees, but 75% is pretty much a work stoppage. Hard for 20-odd employees to really run a competitive shop in the movie business these days.
Perhaps that's what Miramax president Daniel Battsek thought, as well. He's leaving the company, which is being shuttled across the country from New York to Burbank.
"With the change in direction at Miramax, we have reached a mutual agreement with Daniel Battsek that he will leave his post as president, effective January 2010," said newly minted Disney chairman Richard Ross in a statement. "During his 18 years of service, he has brought some very prestigious and award-winning films to the studio from Calendar Girls to The Queen to No Country for Old Men. We wish Daniel the very best on his future endeavors."

There are heartwarming tales and then there's Endal, a pedigree Labrador who virtually single-pawedly cared for a disabled Gulf War veteran, saving his marriage, and, on one occasion, his life. It's the stuff movies are made of, and thanks to producer Simon Brooks (White Noise), it's now the stuff a movie will be made of. Brooks acquired the rights to the story after watching a TV documentary about Chief Petty Officer Allen Parton who, after suffering head injuries in combat, was assigned a charity-trained pup Endal to help with his day-to-day chores.Endal's resourcefulness went much further though: when Parton was hit by a car, the canine put him into the recovery position, covered him in a blanket and went for help. He could also use a cash machine, fetch items from supermarket shelves and load and empty a washing machine. Oh, and Endal himself had a lifelong disability »

Jerry Hall is preparing to pack her bags for the United Arab Emirates - producers of the star's Calendar Girls stage musical are considering an offer to move the show to Dubai.
Mick Jagger's ex-wife strips off for a role in the theatre production in London's West End, which is based on the hit 2003 film.
And the model/actress could soon be shedding her clothes in sunnier climes, if theatre bosses agree to take the show abroad.
Producer David Pugh explains, "It's a little bit surreal. We have had two approaches to take this show to the Arab Emirates and to Dubai. They want us to play in the big hotels out there."
But the musical's racier scenes could cause a problem in the strict Muslim country - as could the lack of British cakes, which feature heavily in the film and theatre production.
Pugh adds, "I don't know how we would do it with the nudity due to the strict dress codes out there. It might well require extra costumes. And how we will source (cakes) Victoria sponges and Bakewell tarts in the desert, I don't know." »

EastEnders veteran June Brown is to strip on stage after joining the cast of the West End adaptation of Calendar Girls. The 82-year-old, who is most recognised for her role as Walford smoker Dot Branning, will take a short break from filming at the BBC soap to take on the role of Jessie, the show's Miss January, currently played by Sian Phillips. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Calendar Girls producer David Pugh said: "It was the moment in the royal retiring room, with June sitting there with her cigarette and a glass of Champagne. Dafydd [Rogers, co-producer] came in just as she was lifting her dress to show me her legs - I have to tell you, they're a bloody good set of pins. They're the legs of a 42-year-old!" He added: "She asked if she could be a little more brave in the part. Sian uses balls of wool and something »

Dame Helen Mirren's co-star in Calendar Girls has laughed off reports of a sequel to the hit film - insisting the movie has produced enough spin-offs already.
Penelope Wilton starred alongside Mirren in the surprise 2003 smash, which chronicled the real-life story of a group of Women's Institute members who produced a nude calendar to raise money for charity.
The movie grossed a massive $93 million (£62 million) worldwide and was this year turned into a hit West End show, while an anniversary calendar has just hit the U.K. shelves - but Wilton is adamant there won't be another film.
She says, "I know a new tenth anniversary calendar has just come out, and there is a stage show as well, but I don't believe there should be a new film. The Calendar Girls brand has gone as far as it can go." »

Andrea Riseborough, Jaime Winstone and Daniel Mays have signed on for We Want Sex, a light-hearted look at the women's rights movement that's billed as Billy Elliot meets Calendar Girls. The trio join Sally Hawkins and Bob Hoskins in telling the story of the 1968 strike by the women of Ford's Dagenham plant that brought the motor giant to its knees and made waves in Westminster and the campaign for equal pay. Nigel Cole (Calendar Girls) will direct after stepping in to replace Simon Curtis. According to producer Elizabeth Karlsen of Number 9 Films, We Want Sex will combine drama and comedy in equal doses. "Although it's set in 1968, the challenges for women today remain as prevalent and constant as they did then. As filmmakers, our own challenge will be to create the events, both hilarious and tragic in turn, that led to a groundbreaking law that enabled the empowerment of women around the world. »

(Sorry to get your hopes up, Sports Illustrated fans. This movie is not relevant to your interests.)
You may be familiar with the type of movie where a group of lovable losers get together to do something you wouldn't expect people like them to do, and therein lies the comedy. You had out-of-shape men stripping in The Full Monty, and old ladies posing nude in Calendar Girls, and a retired gentleman swimming the English Channel in On a Clear Day. These movies always seem to be British, but you will be pleased to know that now the Swedes have gotten in on the act!
The Swimsuit Issue is about a group of ordinary men of varying ages and physiques who combine to create Sweden's first all-male synchronized swimming team. You can see why that's very funny: They're Men, but they're doing Synchronized Swimming! There really isn't much to it beyond that. »
