Trivia:
The reference to John Ashcroft losing to a dead man is true. The "dead man" was Missouri Governor Mel Carnahan. Carnahan was running for Senator, but died in a plane crash in October three weeks before the election. It was too late to remove his name from the ballot. But Carnahan defeated Ashcroft in the election. His widow Jean served his term in the Senate. more

Great comedy worthy of several viewings, 24 November 2005
8/10
Author: observationalist from United States

I am usually a hardcore Seinfeld fan, the subtle jokes, observations, lacking the profanity (don't get me wrong, I swear in almost every sentence I use, not literally but A LOT) but Robin Williams can give a good laugh. If you aren't offended by the occasion profanity, racial/sexist/religious/political/nationality/crude and or sexual humor, than this is an absolutely hilarious stand up routine that is easily quoted for weeks (possibly at the correct moment even years later) Robin Williams shows his talent for being able to give such harsh and brutal jokes on such gentle and touchy subject matter but doing it in a way that even if you share the views that he bashes you can still get one hell of a laugh out of it. Even if you are a republican and he bashes that particular party, you don't care, it was funny (and if you do care, relax and realize it is just a comedy routine, stop complaining) The particular bit on Viagra was hilarious. I love how he incorporated the water bottles into some of the show for laughs.

The laughs keep coming, one after another, even though there were several very short lulls that may have not seemed funny to you, it picks right back up rather swiftly. Sometimes I will admit Williams dwelled on a certain subject longer than I felt necessary, but I am no comedian, yes I make Seinfeld-style observations about things hence my profile name)so I'll leave it to the pro. Nonetheless, Williams pulls this off beautifully and it is a great DVD to buy or to see on HBO. Great value to be watched several times.
