Bringing Rain is a beautiful work of art. There are points in this movie where the audience is going to have to speculate what exactly is happening. What is the reason for this? Sometimes there questions are answered and sometimes they are left to wonder for themselves. There are parts where the characters become larger than life. The way Babbitt treats Askins and the way he talks about Askins is very moving, he hates him to his face now because of the accident, but when someone talks about him, its like no one could hold a candle to him...When the Dean asks "have you seen Clay Askins?" and Babbitt Responds "not for a long time" gives insight to how he really feels about his former friend, that he no longer exists and this new Clay Askins is just a shell. Very interesting and well made film.
