Fox to Develop an Animated TV Show with Jonah Hill

14 October 2009 6:44 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

According to Variety, Fox is going to develop a pitch from Jonah Hill (Superbad) that will be produced by Peter Chernin.

Fox will also put together a script based on Peter Bagge's graphic novel series The Bradleys.

Hill is going to provide the voiceover on his show. He will also write it with Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul (Yes Man).

The show will follow "a 7-year-old socialite who acts and talks like an adult." Things get really interesting when he has to go to public school.

The Bradleys script will be written by Peter Bagge and Matthew Lawton (Crank Yankers).

The Bradleys focuses on a dysfunctional suburban family. It was originally published in the early 1980s.

"I was obsessed with Peter Bagge's comics when I was a teen," Lawton states. "I ran away to Seattle at the age of 16, and was definitely this grumpy, disaffected punk kid."

Gobstopper - Trailer

Faux trailer for Gobstopper directed and written by Eric Appel who has previously written for Crank Yankers, The Andy Milonakis Show, Human Giant.

The "movie" features a demented Willy Wonka (played brilliantly by Back to the Future's Christopher Lloyd) terrorizing a group of teens that come to visit his Chocolate Factory. The teens are played by Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights), Paul Rust (I Love You, Beth Cooper), Martha Maclsaac (Superbad), and Nicky Whelan. The always entertaining Paul Sheer (Human Giant) and Wee Man (Jackass) also make appearances.

Perverse Puppets & Odd Couple Antics in ‘The Meatgrinder Show’

One imagines that the first caveman who slipped his hand through the fur of a recently slaughtered animal to create something warm and cuddly with which to entertain his hirsute offspring also immediately thought of the impure possibilities of such a creation. The overwhelmingly adorable necessarily occasions its opposite, the vilely dirty, a cathartic gag that’s lasted into Western civilization’s more recent centuries, from the cruel slapstick of Punch and Judy to Crank Yankers, and it never seems to get old: the cuter the puppet, the nastier must be its deeds. The latest ventriloquized stuffed animal to take part in this proud tradition is Meatgrinder, a wide-mouthed, Nsfw, glass-eyed, furry orange thing of indeterminate origin that looks like it was picked off the reject pile on the Muppet lot. As voiced and given movement by Dan Mott in The Meatgrinder Show, the titular character, nicknamed Meat, comprises one »
