The Royal is a spin off from the TV series Heartbeat. It is based in a hospital in Whitby (The 'big town') and follows the goings on of the staff, nurses doctors and porters.
It features a number of members of the Heartbeat series making cameo appearances. Claude Greengrass is a regular.
Ian Carmichael appears as the secretary .. he must be 99!
