Entertaining for children *and* adults alike., 3 December 2004
Author: schlep_knd_fan from United States

I really enjoy this show because of its humor, colorful characters, and great voice actors. I'm sure there's many people who wouldn't care for this type of show, but it has a HUGE Internet fan base, with many many many fan sites devoted to it (check out ericandamelie.tripod.com or numbuh69.proboards39.com/index.cgi.) Also, the show's creator answers your emails and he's very cute. ^_^

Anyway, the show is about an organization called the Kids Next Door. The show follows one sector of the organization in particular, Sector V. The leader of Sector V is Nigel Uno, aka Numbuh 1, and his fellow team mates (operatives) are also known by their codenames: Numbuh 2, Numbuh 3, and so on. There are five operatives in Sector V, and each bring a unique skill/gift/characteristic to the show. For example, Numbuh 2 is an engineer, and he's obsessed with airplanes. Once in awhile, he may crack a *few* witty puns. Numbuh 3 is Japanese, and kind of an airhead. Numbuh 4 is Australian and the "tough guy" on the team (he's also the shortest!) While Numbuh 5 is American, and does the spying for the team. You may like it or not, but I say just watch it once. You never know.

An original, highly entertaining cartoon for all animation lovers., 17 January 2006
Author: Spacetree from United States

Young or old, if you enjoy cartoons and animation, then you'll enjoy Kids Next Door. The show's concept is relatively simple: a secret agency composed of ten year-olds fights evil adults; the result is a imaginative world that is both inspired by several genres and movies and creates a distinct universe. The comedy is wide-ranging in the ages it appeals to, the action is entertaining despite the show not being the pinnacle of animation, and the plots are original while paying homage to it's sources: many of the episodes are homages with a KND spin that works extremely well. The characters that make up this rich universes might seem like stereotypes at first, but they grow into completely three-dimensional beings that can be both fun and poignant.

Hands down, KND is one of the best original shows on Cartoon Network, keeping with the explosion of comic creativity in the channel that is leagues ahead of most other kid-oriented channels (Nick and Disney come to mind).

Retarded, 22 October 2007

*** This review may contain spoilers ***

Cartoon Network was in old days really good TV station with tons of good cartoons (The Flinstones, The Jetsons, Top Cat, Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes), but for the last 2 years everything is going downhill. Now they're just showing us these new cartoons, full of idiotic humor and retarded characters. I don't mind to watch something new, but why isn't there any original show? These new cartoons are just trying to make "copy - paste" ideas from the old classics. The characters in new cartoons are not even funny, they're really annoying (Juniper Lee, Atomic Betty, Robotboy). Today everyone thinks that a good cartoon must be filled with crazy morons, who are screaming and talking flat dialogs all the time.

But, if you want a winner among annoying cartoons, this is the best one: Code Name Kids Next door. Why? Simply, it sucks. It's one of the most annoying cartoons I've ever seen. What is so funny about five kids fighting against the older kids and their parents? This cartoon is making children stupid and retarded. The cartoon is trying to convince the children that their parents are wicked villains, who will enslave the kids when they reach the age of 12.

And what's even worse... the characters are really annoying. Every time I see them on TV, I just want to throw the television out of the window. Five kids, one more annoying from another, are just screaming all the time and talking words without any sense. They can't say a single word without extreme yelling.

The episodes are really stupid. Now, I didn't watch a lot of them, but believe me... I've seen enough. The stories are lame and even inappropriate for children; in one of the episodes the kids were trying to make a snow day for every day in year, so they won't have to go to school. Yeah, school is really bad. Getting education is really bad. Why even bother to go to school? Be retarded and without any education. Why? Because educated people are not watching these piece of garbage.

In another episode, one of the characters is eating some vegetable and everyone is freaked out that he's gonna die. What's the point? How more stupid can you be? Are you making fun of children? Are you trying to make them stupid? I don't know... I have a feeling this show is trying to convince children three things: 1. don't go to school 2. don't believe your parents, because they're pure evil 3. if you wanna be cool, you must be retarded and stay in your tree house for the rest of your lives.

This is really one of the worst cartoons ever made. It's so bad that I even begin to love Scooby Doo (at first, I hate it). I hope this show will be canceled. Cartoon Network should put the old cartoons back, because these new cartoons are just pure rubbish.

I underestimated this show., 3 August 2003
Author: subara_C from Fullerton, CA

When I was watching Cartoon Network as usual, I saw a commercial for Codename: Kids Next Door. When I saw it, I thought this would be a totally lame show with kids who are brats and think that adults want to take over everything. I was wrong.

This show by far one of the best shows on Cartoon Network. It is funny and it has great animation. The dialogue and all the gadgets are funny. For Example: The Flu Bug(a.k.a. The Common Cold)had a mucus squirting machine. The machine was defeated my Numbuh 2's mother's Chicken Soup Machine. That was sheer bliss. It was uproarious. Watch this show. It is way better than Ed, Edd, and Eddy.

What A Cool Show!, 21 September 2004
Author: roosnooker86 from Angeles City, Philippines

Codename: Kids Next Door is a show a find quite entertaining. The color is adequate and the characters are drawn in a natural way. They maybe kids, but they're kids with firepower. This makes difficult for their rivals to conquer them. Their greatest rival are five kids who could not talk individually, but all together simultaneously. I like the Kids Next Door especially Number 3 (Kuki Sanban). Her attractive appearance really gets my attention. Anyway, this show is really good. It would also someday be a fad. I wish someday a lot of KND merchandise would be selled in numerous stores in America and worldwide. Whoever created this show is an artistic genius.

Well worth watching, 9 September 2006
10/10
Author: StudioSuite from United States

The KND series is without a doubt excellent! The stories and sub plot twists are all integrated into a nice package every time. The artwork is clean & sweet also. Unlike other cartoons that are thrown together and just a lot of messy abstract junky scratches with no real storyline either. But Kids Next Door deliver every time! The 2x4 technology totally rocks! And the Rainbow Monkeys rule!

The animation & cinematography flows perfect in KND and the sf/music meshes perfectly to the action at hand. And there is an endless supply of writing creativity! My favorite cartoon since Sailor Moon.

A excellent cartoon for kids and adults, 3 February 2007
10/10
Author: ptolrud from United States

While sometimes derivative, the Codename:Kids Next Door is a animated series that everyone can enjoy. The kids in sector V battle adult tyranny, go to school and enjoy life in their tree house. It seems that after the age of 13, they must undergo a decommissioning so that they can no longer work for the organization. This is a source of angst for the team as they love the KND and going on missions together. But in the meantime they do their best although sector V is not the top team, their hearts are always in the right place and adults are usually vanquished. I just wish this cartoon was available for purchase. I'm 50 and a huge fan. Hope they fight on for years.

Fantastic and well worth watching!, 26 September 2006

Author: musichead-2 from United States

I watched the first episode of this (no P in the OOL) four years ago when it premiered on Cartoon Network around Christmas time. It didn't really catch my interest then, and we got rid of cable so I never had a chance to watch the rest of the episodes. Years later they switched CN to channel 75 and I miraculously was able to watch it again. By then the show was in it's fourth season or something and still I didn't watch it. Finally, I watched episode M.A.T.A.D.O.R. and immediately loved it. Kids fighting against the evil 'super powers' of adults, how original can you get? I can see why people wouldn't like this, seeing as it's kind of repetitive and the story doesn't really advance much. Nonetheless, compared to the crap that CN now has to offer, this show is absolute genius! The characters are very well thought out and interesting, and the various missions in each episode can be hilarious. I'm a teen and I am not ashamed to watch it because I know a good cartoon when I see it. THIS IS A GOOD CARTOON! Hopefully it'll go on for many years to come. Check it out if you ever get the chance! 10/10

Just another reason to watch the Cartoon Network . . ., 28 September 2003
Author: Carmen (fortune_cookie_009)

At first I thought that this was going to be stupid but then I read the comments on the imdb and since everybody thought this cartoon was great I watched it and everyone was right-it was awesome!!! All the characters were unique had their own background. The villians are really funny too! The Cartoon Network usually has good shows, at least better shows than most of the cartoons on The Disney Channel. Also, has anyone but me noticed that Numbah Three and Numbah Four like each other?

Numbuh 1 Rocks!, 28 May 2005
Author: Heather Beery from United States

I love this show! My favorite character as you can probably tell, is Numbuh 1.I can't help it, he's just so cool! Love the accent! Although I think he can do a lot better than Lizzie for a girlfriend. Him and Numbuh 86 should be together, like Jimmy and Cindy on Jimmy Neutron; Boy Genius. I especially love the way he tries to bring justice to kids everywhere.

Observe with this quote;

Numbuh 1: How many times do we have to tell you parents, cleaning closets is deadly work. (so true*sigh*)

But seriously, I love basically all the K.N.D.
