Steve Mason is now on Facebook. Sunday 9:30 a.m. (Pacific): Shia Labeouf is lucky and good. He's become a budding superstar with the help of $300 million blockbusters Transformers and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull but his career has been on the make for a while. He grew up in the business gaining traction in the Disney Channel series Even Stevens and ramped up his career with roles in the family film Holes ($16.3 million opening, $67.4 million cume) and the critically-acclaimed indies A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints and Bobby. Then he demonstrated his real appeal in last year's commercial breakthrough Disturbia, directed by D.J. Caruso. Now his reteaming with Caruso, Eagle Eye (DreamWorks/Paramount) has scored even bigger.

Some rants! I'm beginning to arrive at the conclusion that maybe Jamie Bell is becoming more and more under-rated. Why should Mr. Foe only get a limited release? The young actor is phenomenal, for Chrissakes! If you're a bonafide fan of young actors, its time for you to watch Mr. Foe and demand for more of Jamie Bell. In our weekly top 3, he's definitely covered. So is Zac Efron, and don't tell me he sucks in High School Musical, wait till you watch him in Me and Orson Welles! Another mention, this time,

Action star Shia Labeouf is just as tough off screen as he is on. "I'm just propped up right now to do Transformers 2," Labeouf told People of his left hand at Tuesday's Eagle Eye premiere in Hollywood. "Then, when I get another surgery, I'll start recovering. Right now, I'm getting through." It was his first red carpet appearance since the July 27 DUI arrest and accident that crushed his hand. The 22-year-old kept the healing appendage, which was in a white protective guard, in his pocket for most of the night. And when asked if he was "70- to 80-percent back to normal,

Shia Labeouf is easily one of the most successful actors of his generation thanks to his work on the Transformers franchise, the Indiana Jones flick and other hits such as Holes and Disturbia (he'll be seen this fall in the thriller Eagle Eye). Movies were a lifeblood for the actor, who grew up in Echo Park, Ca., a city which [...]

Shia Labeouf credits Angelina Jolie's father Jon Voight with his acting success - insisting he doubted his future in Hollywood before befriending the veteran star.
The 21-year-old co-starred with Voight in 2003's Holes - the movie credited with shooting the Indiana Jones star into the Hollywood big time.
And Voight's words of wisdom led to the young actor to fall back in love with his craft - and insists he "loves" Voight for his kind approach.
Labeouf says, "I guess he saw a kid who needed something that he could provide, which was guidance, a male figure, all of that, education. Jon showed me that there was so much to strive for.
"It all just started being very emotional for me and I fell in love with the title 'actor'.
He adds, "He's just a great friend. He's a loving man. I love that guy."
