Urban Western..., 15 April 2009
Author: Everyday-Struggler from E-Town

This movie basically feels like an Urban Western, and I think it has to do more with than just the fact that VING RHAMES is wearing a cowboy-hat throughout the movie.

VING's part is sort of the part that CLINT EASTWOOD would play in a western, silent, roughneck not really to connected with his emotions...

But the movie of course takes place in current time in Las Vegas, even though it's not the fancy parts of Vegas that has tourists tend to flock.

It is the grimy, and dirty and often disgusting parts of the city some of it takes place in the Porn-business so it makes sense not to have a to glamorized look.

The movie itself is somewhat depressing, or maybe even a lot depressing but at the same time I think the story is quite poetical or at least that is what the director wanted us to feel.

And it works... Sometimes but not all of the time, it has got couple of illogical events throughout the movie but I feel like it actually is able to steer-off the feeling of a B-Movie even though parts are reminiscent of one.

The biggest reason for this is probably the performances of VING RHAMES and GARY OLDMAN, whom both deliver good enough performances to keep you entertained.

But If you're looking for a Feel-Good movie or an action-comedy, THIS IS THE WRONG MOVIE.

It's almost a Feel-Bad movie come to think of it, But me being a fan of VING RHAMES I do enjoy it and I feel like mostly every scene where VING is in he delivers a lot of charisma to the screen.
