Have you ever felt 'betrayed' by an actor?

10 November 2009 8:30 AM, PST | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

In a new W magazine cover story interview, Demi Moore speaks candidly about her position in Hollywood (which is currently on the indie scene, see: a role opposite Parker Posey in the upcoming Happy Tears). She also talks about her decision to "step back" and semi-retire to Idaho after starring in and producing G.I. Jane. "I think G.I. Jane got hit because I was paid $12 million to do Striptease,” Moore says. “In a sense, Striptease was a film where women felt I betrayed them. G.I. Jane is a film where men felt I betrayed them. The focus went on that paycheck. »

Jamie Foxx Eager to Bring The Funny With 'Hangover' Team

16 October 2009 12:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Wasn’t “The Soloist” hilarious? Remember all those crazy scenes of Robert Downey Jr. spilling urine on himself, and Jamie Foxx acting like he might be insane? Ah, good times, good times.

Oh wait, “Soloist” was a drama? Well, now that you mention it, maybe I shouldn’t have been laughing so much. Either way, the good news is that Foxx and Downey Jr. are reuniting for a real comedy from the director of “The Hangover.” And this time, I’m pretty sure it’ll be okay to laugh.

“Yeah, it’s called ‘Due Date,’” Jamie Foxx said of the film, issuing some high praise for director Todd Phillips, who also made “Old School” a frat-house classic. “He is the funniest guy in the world.”

The flick will reunite Phillips with his “Hangover” leading man Zach Galifianakis to tell the story of a father-to-be (Downey Jr.) who is forced to »

Vince Vaughn on Couples Retreat

13 October 2009 10:29 AM, PDT | www.canmag.com | See recent CanMag news »

Vince Vaughn and his comedy cohorts have developed a style where they take realistic premises and banter them out to ridiculous extremes. It began with Swingers and really came into the mainstream with Old School and Wedding Crashers. After The Breakup, Fred Claus and Four Christmases, Vaughn explained how his style applies to his latest film, Couples Retreat.

Vince Vaughn on a Couples Retreat

.The job of an actor is to look like you.re not acting,. Vaughn said. .Sometimes I think people reward people who go to extreme emotions. I can look at it, and other actors can look at it, and go, .I can see the work in it,. but people go, .That must be powerful because you.re crying.. But, that would make everyone.s crazy aunt a great actor. So, I.ve always felt the real thing to do is make it effortless. Like any performer in music, »

RZA joins Downey Jr. and Galifianakis in Due Date

8 October 2009 2:05 AM, PDT | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

Variety reports that Wu-Tang Clan rapper RZA will star with Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis in Due Date, the upcoming comedy from director Todd Phillips (The Hangover, Old School, Starsky & Hutch).

The story involves a soon-to-be father who is in danger of missing his child's birth. In order to make it on time, he has to enlist the help of an underachieving college student, who takes him on a road trip.

The RZA has already starred in and produced music for a number of features, perhaps most notably those of indie filmmaker Jim Jarmusch. If you haven't yet seen it, check out this hilarious clip from Jarmusch's Coffee and Cigarettes, in which RZA discusses the ills of caffeine addiction with fellow Wu-Tang member Gza and ... Bill Murray.

RZA is also starring in Paul Haggis's upcoming movie The Next Three Days and is scoring Robbie Brenner's Warriors Way. »

Hey, Paulington: Seat Talkers, Fall TV, and Our New Dude!

Hey, Paulington! Is a Cinephile advice column that looks at life, love, and the movies. Anyone can send in a question, and Paulington will answer it. Sure, it's a really cryptic, cliched concept that has been around since the dawn of time. But we're spicing it up a little bit. Topics can range from anything: Sex, violence, haints and taints, your favorite movie! Paulington doesn't care. He's basically doing it for a paycheck. He's not really an expert on anything. But he sure does know a lot about movies and human nature. You can send your questions to (as in, click on the giant red letters and you will automatically be sent to his email):

Hey, Paulington!

And he will be sure to answer all of them in a very timely manner. Here are this week's letters. Enjoy!

Vince Vaughn Not Ruling Out 'Old School 2'

23 September 2009 10:05 AM, PDT | GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news »

Can you believe it's been almost seven years since Old School was released? I think you can make the case that it saved Vince Vaughn's career and may have legitimized Will Ferrell as a comedic star, and almost immediately, there was sequel talk. Though we didn't ever get a follow-up, Vaughn, Ferrell, and Luke Wilson kept popping up in each other's movies, so we didn't really need one.

Not that we need an Old School 2 now, especially with Ferrell developing a second Anchorman movie, but apparently there's still a chance we'll see it. Vaughn told Collider, "If there is something that’s really great that inspires you than I’d be open to anything, of course.

"I sort of feel like there are a lot of good ideas and different movies to do so I’d definitely like to and look forward to doing something with [director Todd Phillips] again, but whether »

Don't Give Up On Old School 2, Says Vince Vaughn

23 September 2009 8:20 AM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

When The Hangover became such an enormous hit this summer, its director Todd Phillips finally moved on from being just the director of 2003's Old School, and started making plans right and left to capitalize on that movie's success. Until that moment we'd been hearing nonstop rumors about a potential Old School sequel, but especially in the wake of The Hangover, the whole notion was seeming totally dead. But that's not quite true, according to Vince Vaughn. Collider caught up with the Old School star at a junket for Couple's Retreat, and while he didn't have any promises about whether the movie would ever actually happen, he said not to give up hope. "I wouldn.t say never. I know he.s (Todd Phillips) doing .Hangover. and has those things to do. There has been a script for it which is actually pretty good." Stars make vague promises all the »

Vince Vaughn talks Old School 2

22 September 2009 11:34 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Ever since “Old School” became a hit back in 2003, there have been whispers of the cast reuniting and doing a sequel. Unfortunately, the more time that passes, the less of a chance it’s ever going to happen.

But even though the chances are slim, whenever I interview someone from the film, I always ask about the sequel. And since I covered the “Couples Retreat” international press day for our partners at Omelete earlier today, I had the chance to speak with Vince Vaughn during a roundtable interview. What he said about “Old School 2″ and what he’s doing next is after the jump.

The first thing to know is Vince gave me an answer like a politician. He’s clearly been asked about “Old School 2″ many times and he managed to say a lot without really saying anything at all. However, he did confirm Todd Phillips is definitely making »

It's almost September, folks, and you know what that means: Time to wash the sand out of your unmentionable areas, put away the grill and say sayonara to those lazy, hazy days of summer.

But before we wave goodbye to the beach, let's mix ourselves one last glass of lemonade, sit on the front porch and take a look at the biggest winners in a summer full of cinema. Will Ferrell Cameos That Predate 'The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard'

14 August 2009 12:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

One of the reasons to see “The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard,” is for the cameo from Will Ferrell, who also produced the new movie through his company, Gary Sanchez Productions. Typically, uncredited appearances like this are also not promoted so they can be a surprise to the audience. Yet Ferrell’s scene, in which he falls to his death from an airplane while wearing an Abe Lincoln costume and fighting off sex toys, can currently be seen on FunnyorDie.com, where it’s been viewed more than 130,000 times.

Hilarious as it is on its own, you might rather skip the sneak peek and watch the scene in the context of the movie. That is, if you think such a cameo makes a movie better as a whole. There are certainly some people out there who find a sudden appearance from a big star to be an unnecessary distraction.

Snoop Dogg Delivers The Old School at Lollapalooza

9 August 2009 10:44 PM, PDT | MTV Newsroom | See recent MTV Newsroom news »

By Steven Roberts

Chicago -- I grew up on Snoop Dogg. Outside of A Tribe Called Quest’s “Scenario,” I think “Nuthin’ But a 'G Thang” was the probably the first rap song I knew the words to. Thinking of Snoop riding down the block on somebody’s handlebars wearing a Penguins jersey, khakis and Chucks in the “Gin & Juice” music video brings a smile to my face. I remember watching his performance of “Murder was the Case” at the 1993 Vma Awards like it was yesterday.

So, when I found out I as going to Lollapalooza this year, Snoop was the one person I needed to see. I had never seen him live and I didn’t care if I slogged my way through rain and the heat and saw nothing else. What better place to see Snoop then at Lollapalooza with tens of thousands of people?
