Trivia:
The kid sitting in the back of the van (next to the pea) originally appeared in "The Toy That Saved Christmas" and is a caricature of creator Phil Vischer's daughter. moreGoofs:
Continuity: After the demonstration "slap of no return", there is a long shot showing the prisoners and the 'demo station'. The demo station still has a complete uncut rope even though it was cut to drop the slap. moreQuotes:
Pirate Pa, Larry, Mr. Lunt: ["The Credits Song"] This is the song that runs under the credits. These are the credits, so this is where it goes. Has nothing to do with the movie so we'll say "Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!...” moreSoundtrack:
There's a Wideness in God's Mercy moreFAQ

... you'll love it! Lots of insolent humour, good songs (a great Gospel number, for instance, and "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything"), and a moral -- a little broadly spread, but not unpalpable.
It's sort of nice to have God in a movie without his name being taken "in vain." Nice change from the sort of movie I prefer.
And my kids loved it.
I hope this gets a wider distribution before its video release.
