In this repeat, national institution Attenborough – the closest the BBC has to a living saint – looks back at his 50 years in broadcasting. Talking to another national treasure, Michael Palin, Attenborough reveals how he was turned down by BBC radio, only to go on to land a job with the fledgling TV service. Though he rose to become the director of programmes, he's best known for fronting classic wildlife series such as Life On Earth and The Blue Planet. Also showing are examples from his oeuvre including The Life of Birds and Planet Earth, looking at wildlife in the Arctic and Antarctic.
