Less than a year before RENT opened in theaters, Tracie Thoms made a guest appearance on the TV show "Law & Order" (1990), where Jesse L. Martin starred as Det. Ed Green. In an interview about filming the episode, Tracie stated, "I'm like, 'Hey Jesse, it looks like we're gonna be spending a lot of time together.' And he's like, 'We are?' I'm like, 'Yeah. I'm Joanne.' (imitates Jesse gasping) 'ACTION!'"

Revealing mistakes: In the song 'Rent', when Collins was getting beat up in the alley, his jacket was was off before he fell to the ground, then it was back on for the muggers to take.

i saw the movie rent

I admit, I liked the stage show but it had huge flaws. The movie fixed all the flaws and improved on all the characters' motivations. Especially Mimi.

I loved the movie. Columbus did a fabulous job as did Steve Chbosky, the screenwriter who fixed all the structure problems the show had and made you love these characters even more. I never felt emotionally connected to the characters when seeing it on stage, as a movie, I was with each of them the whole way. For all your doubters, give the movie a chance, I think you'll be surprised.
