Latest HALIFAX instalment, while a well-written crime drama, is nothing out of the ordinary for the series, with the exception of the performance by one Emily Browning - you've seen her on BLUE HEELERS, then in THE MAN WHO SUED GOD, and PLAYING GOD is her best performance to date - she's definitely one to watch for the future. The story: 13-year-old genius schoolgirl (Browning) allegedly murders an 8-year-old friend - before she can be tried, Jane Halifax must assess whether or not she is mentally fit. Not a truly original storyline, but entertaining all the same - it rewards long-time viewers with a shocking secret concerning Jane's father, who died ten years ago.
