I need to start avoiding movies that say "in the tradition of..." or "from the makers of..." because those two phrases seem to reek of desperation. "In the tradition of" seems to mean "there isn't an original thought involved in this" and "From the makers of" means that it's directed by the guy that did the sweeping up on the sets. This is somewhat of a ghost story, which is fine by me, and it's not horrible, but it's not good either. So I guess that makes it mediocre, right? Uh huh. Three kids grow up to be adults and while they're growing up, one falls in love with the other so they get married. Too bad she married the one that was all screwed up, while the one that REALLY loves her was left on his own. Anyway the woman moves to a house in the country where she's haunted by noises from the little cat door she has. Ooo, scary stuff kids. Her ex kills himself and comes back to haunt her too. Or does he? This loses focus somewhat early on and never regains it, and there's a twist ending that will leave you....well, unsatisfied, that's for sure. A bit too obvious. Not really worth your time, unless mediocrity appeals to you.
