What universe am i in? Did i accidentally pass through a space warp into a universe where Luke Perry stars in something that's actually fairly decent...? I first stumbled across this purely by accident, saw Luke Perry's face, and my first thought was, "Awww, this has gotta be nothing but dreck...!" But, for some reason i continued to watch it and i was hooked.
It's sort of an American-style retelling of the British series "Survivors" but with lots more actiony sequences.
Reasonably decent writing and story pacing. The acting is passable enough that it leaves the characters pretty believable. At least i'm not laughing in snide derision like i do at many of things that have ended up on the Sci-fi Channel.
And not only is Perry rather good doing his character of Jeremiah, M-J Warner is also pretty good in portraying his own character. The adventures their characters go through make the audience viewer continue to watch episode after episode.
I'm watching the episode with Jason Priestley playing the psycho-baddie at the moment. I have to say that Jason *does* make for a good baddie. Bwahahaha! What a nutcase the character is! You can tell Jason is having fun playing the character to the hilt.
Both Perry and Warner have a previous history of appearing in drecky TV series. Here, they managed to redeem themselves.
I like this series enough that i actually got my own episode compilations. I guess that says something in favor of it.
