Dustin Hoffman reportedly refuses to join the second sequel to "Meet the Parents." The Academy Award winning actor will allegedly not appear on the latest installment of the comedy franchise, "Little Fockers," because of scheduling conflicts.
Hoffman, 72, played Ben Stiller's dad in the 2004 sequel "Meet the Fockers," was highly expected to reprise his role in the upcoming third film.
But the versatile actor won't be joining his co-stars. According to reports, scheduling conflicts prevented him to act alongside Stiller, and confirmed stars Jessica Alba and Robert De Niro.
Also yet to confirm is Barbra Streisand, who played Stiller's mother in "Meet the Fockers."

Robert De Niro, the godfather of actors, goes on a journey to unite his fictional family using the gift of expression. Anna Pickard analyzes that
It has been a while since the sight of the man often referred to as one of the most powerful actors of his generation has inspired anything but trepidation - or a sudden fear that this is that sequel to Meet the Fockers you've read about.
It isn't, don't worry.
Yes, it is Robert De Niro, but this film isn't Little Fockers, so it's fine. In fact, it's Everybody's Fine.
It is about a man. A man going on a journey. A journey with some choice cinematography photography, by the looks of it.
That is not why he is going, however. It is not merely for the purpose of looking small and lonely against bleached, wide, sweeping urban canvases.
He is a man who, we learn quite artfully, »

The box office Twi-Hards With A Vengeance as New Moon breaks records; Dustin Hoffman may not be in the next Fockers movie after all; Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan are just A Couple of Cops; Robert Pattinson will romance some older ladies (control yourselves) in Bel Ami and Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender say Eyre we go again to another Bronte adaptation.
Summit Entertainment and Stephanie Meyer must have been popping champagne corks all weekend with the truly outstanding grosses for their Twilight sequel New Moon.
After grossing a scorching $26.27 million from midnight screenings on Friday the film went on to take $72.7 million for a record opening day – beating The Dark Knight’s $67 million. To put things in context the first film in the Twilight saga scored $36 million on it’s first day and banked $69 million for the weekend.

"Little Fockers", the third installment in Universal Pictures' popular franchise that began with "Meet the Parents" and spawned the sequel "Meet the Fockers", is looking less and less likely in even getting a cameo out of Hollywood veteran Dustin Hoffman. Originally, Hoffman was to have a brief cameo as Bernie Focker, father of Ben Stiller's Greg Focker, but the actor was reportedly unhappy with the size of his role. On top of that, there were some scheduling difficulties and salary issues which have surfaced, meaning Hoffman may essentially opt out of the film. Why not give Hoffman de Niro's role is what I'd like to ask? I can't stand him and every movie I see him in makes my dislike for him more deep. In any case, we'll keep you posted.

Are there no good dramatic roles left in Hollywood? Harvey Keitel has signed on to star in Little Fockers opposite Robert De Niro, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Remember the '70s, when Keitel and DeNiro were starring in edgy, challenging movies like Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver? Now, both seem to be confined to less-than-original comedies. Thankfully, at least DeNiro has a role in Robert Rodriguez's upcoming Machete.
And how about Dustin Hoffman? Is a possible appearance in Little Fockers the best he can expect? We recently overheard the tour-guide of a museum refer to Hoffman as "the guy from Meet the Fockers." Our thoughts: Anyone who knows Hoffman only from that movie should immediately be sent home with copies of The Graduate, Midnight Cowboy, and Little Big Man.

One of the most annoying things about throwing yourself knee deep into movies a little later in life is all the catching up involved. It's endlessly frustrating to know I have seen all but one of Paul Weitz's films and still haven't seen everything from Spielberg or even Scorsese. What's even more frustrating is I am expecting to receive About a Boy from Netflix in the next couple of days, which will complete my viewing of the Paul Weitz-directed filmography. Of course, that's my fault for not renting The Sugarland Express or Bringing Out the Dead, but after seeing the lame Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant and American Dreamz before that, I needed to see why so many people kept telling me to see About a Boy just so I can mark it off my list and be done with Weitz. That is until he unleashes the »

In casting news tonight, we've learned that Harvey Keitel is joining those crazy Fockers. He's signed on for Little Fockers, the sequel to Meet the Fockers, and the Focker-pun free title Meet the Parents. He's joining returning cast members Ben Stiller, Robert DeNiro, Teri Polo, and Owen Wilson. Keitel will be playing the role of a contractor employed by Stiller's character. The film will be directed by Paul Weitz (American Pie, About A Boy), who's surely looking to move on after Cirque du Freak bombed. I liked the first film well enough, but I'm really wondering how much longer this franchise is going to live on. Will we see the baby Fockers in question growing up while having to deal with their unfortunate last name? Perhaps a Future Fockers down the line? The possibilities are focking endless! Also, in news that will surely make Zachary Quinto fangirls happy, the Heroes »

Mean Streets and Taxi Driver stars Harvey Keitel and Robert De Niro will reteam for the upcoming Universal comedy Meet The Fockers. And just a few days after Jamie Foxx and Martin Lawrence announced they'd be reteaming their Wanda and Sheneneh characters for a movie?! Will the superstar reteamings ever stop?! Keitel has signed on to play a contractor hired by Stiller's Greg Focker so it's unclear how much, if any, interaction Keitel will actually have with De Niro in the film. Keitel... »

Chicago – Michael Mann might first seem the ideal fit for Blu-Ray. He’s a notorious perfectionist, apparent in every frame of his remarkable output of films that includes such great modern classics as “Manhunter,” “The Insider,” “Collateral,” and “Public Enemies”. But one of Mann’s best films, “Heat,” recently released on Blu-Ray, is an interesting example of a director who has a vision that shouldn’t necessarily be overly polished by the HD format. The film looks like Mann wants it - gritty, dark, and like, well, actual film. It’s a release that some buyers may think doesn’t look “HD enough,” but to this Mann aficionado thinks that it looks just right.
Blu-Ray Rating: 4.5/5.0
As for the film itself, it’s one of the rare ’90s films that gets better every time I see it. It’s a battle of wills between two of the most legendary actors »

No, you read this post's title correctly and you don't need to purchase a new pair of glasses. After ridiculing itself in its attempt to remake Asian horror films, Hollywood (I don't remember the last time I saw an outstanding comedy from Hollywood) will try to remake a film that is considered as a classic of French comedy. The film in question is Le dîner de cons (The Dinner Game), a hilarious comedy which won the 1999 César Awards for best screenplay (original or adaptation).
First of all, the Hollywood version of Le dîner de cons will be titled Dinner for Schmucks and directed by Jay Roach (Meet the Fockers). As for the script, it's described like this on IMDb: "An extraordinarily stupid man possesses the ability to ruin the life of anyone who spends more than a few minutes in his company." Moreover, the cast will include Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, »

There's not really a lot to see behind the scenes of Meet the Fockers. Sure, some enterprising photographer may catch shots of some kind of outdoor toilet gag or Ben Still vs. Robert De Niro wrestling match, but mostly it's normal looking people, wearing normal looking clothes, standing around a normal looking set. Then again, seeing photos of De Niro and Stiller palling around are kind of fun in their own way. That's what Faded Youth Blog has snagged, showcasing about 10 shots of the two actors standing around the set, wearing the "Visitor" badges that suggest they're visiting the school where Laura Dern has been cast as headmistress. Check out two of the shots below, and keep an eye out for when the truly weird set photos start surfacing. »

The cast for Paul Weitz's upcoming "Meet the Parents" sequel "Little Fockers" is growing, as Laura Dern has boarded the project starring Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Teri Polo and Blythe Danner.
At this point, plot details are still somewhat kept under wraps, but the third film in the comedy series that also includes "Meet the Fockers" will follow the main characters as they deal with the birth of kids.
The Hollywood Reporter says Dern will play the headmistress of the elementary school the Fockers' kids are going to. The cast also includes Jessica Alba, who's playing an attractive pharmaceutical rep. »
