Trivia:

Kevin Spacey was the third choice to play David Gale. George Clooney and Nicolas Cage both rejected the part. Nicolas Cage had the script and gave it to Parker, but was already busy with other projects.

Goofs:

Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Near the end of the film, when the protesters are outside David Gale's execution, there is a clear shot of a large banner hung across a barricade which reads "Mark 6:10 Murder does not stop Murder." Mark 6:10 actually reads "And He said to them, Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave town." (NASB), so the bible quote actually has nothing to do with murder at all.

This film has been totally underrated. It has a strong and intrigueing storyline and a powerful cast. Kevin Spacey is brilliant as David Gale, a capital punishment activist convicted of murdering a fellow activist (Laura Linney). Kate Winslet has such a strong presence and extreme intensity throughout the movie. For me Kate's performance enhanced the film.I personally rate this very highly, 9/10.
