When Masiello ('Pat Cooper') attempts to convince Vitti (Robert De Niro) to stay with the family, he mentions "Nobody used to do the big jobs like you. Air France... they're still talking' about it". In 1967, true life Mob member Henry Hill (Ray Liotta's character from Goodfellas (1990)), burglarized the Air France air cargo terminal at JFK Int'l Airport for $420,000. This crime occurred prior to the Lufthansa Heist, central to the Goodfellas storyline.

Goofs:

Factual errors: The gold stolen is said to be worth more than $22 million as they are 90lb bars. However, the bars clearly do not weigh that much. They appear to be the standard gold bar size which is 400oz (or 25lb) with dimensions of approx 8" x 3" x 2". Also, the bars depicted are marked only "24K" whereas real bars would have serial numbers on them. (Additionally, if the bars really were 90lb each, they would not be able to be piled up in the back of the van without causing damage - they would weigh more than two tons)

Very Funny, A laugh a minute

All the revues said this was just o.k. but I have to tell you different. This film had me in stitches from the start. I am amazed how Robert DeNiro can be so strong in serious roles and yet he does comedy as good as any one. People like Robin Williams are trying to cross over to serious roles as is Jim Carrey and this guy makes it look like anybody could do it. Unreal !! Two thumbs way up for this one.
