Happy Birthday, Christina Aguilera: Wake-Up Video

18 December 2009 6:30 AM, PST | MTV Newsroom | See recent MTV Newsroom news »

Somebody please give a cake with 29 candles on it to Christina Aguilera, who celebrates her birthday today. Aguilera has certain crammed a lot into a career for somebody who hasn't yet turned 30 years old. Like contemporaries Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, Aguilera got her start on "The New Mickey Mouse Club" when she was only 12 years old. Pop stardom came calling in 1999 when she dropped her self-titled debut, which featured the chart-topping smash "Genie in a Bottle." From the beginning, Aguilera separated herself from the teen-pop pack with an incredibly technically proficient voice and a super-sexualized look.

More hits followed, like "What a Girl Wants," "Come on Over Baby (All I Want Is You)" and "I Turn to You." After a Spanish-language album and a Christmas record, Aguilera returned with the amped-up Stripped in 2002, which featured a more varied, grittier sound on tracks like "Dirrty" and "Fighter." She got some »

Puck Takes Center Stage in Two New 'Glee' Clips

16 October 2009 11:33 PM, PDT | Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news »

Puck sings to one particular girl in the room full of people, much to Finn's dismay. In a new sneak peek to Wednesday, October 21 episode of "Glee", as soon as Puck croons Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline", the air changes to the one which draws Rachel to him. Quinn also has a different view about Puck after the performance.

Another clip takes the part when Rachel sings in her bedroom Christina Aguilera's "What a Girl Wants" while Puck serenades her with his guitar. He later proposes a break which they could fill with making out. Rachel and Puck indeed could be a new thing in the show, as Lea Michele has said previously, "Rachel's definitely got a spot in her heart for Finn, but let's just say that Finn's not the only guy Rachel gets to have fun with this season."

The episode is called "Mash-Up" and it will »

It Has Happened Before and Will Happen Again… "Hex" is Now On Chiller

Bloody. Hell.

One of the greatest British TV shows ever made is back on American television and will hopefully find a brand new audience with its fantastic writing, spooky ambience, and some of the most sexual characters ever created.

Considered to be the British answer to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Charmed, Hex premiered on Britain's SkyOne in the Fall of  2004 with a five episode first series starring Christina Cole (What A Girl Wants, The Deaths of Ian Stone) as Cassie Hughes, our heroine; Jemima Rooper (The Black Dahlia) as Cassie's lesbian best friend, Thelma Bates and Michael Fassbender (300, Inglorious Basterds) as the seductive, yet evil fallen angel, Azazeal.

The show mixed dark humor with an eerie atmosphere that only the UK can offer and sexual overtones that drives the motivation of most of the show's primary characters. What Buffy did with female empowerment, Hex does the same with repressed sexual identity, »

Project Runway: What a Girl Wants

10 September 2009 11:06 PM, PDT | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

(S06E04) Project Runway loves messing with their designers. This week's challenge was that the models were their clients. It's not groundbreaking (season one's Wedding Dress Challenge comes to mind), but the real challenge is trying to tell these girls that they're delusional and not designers. Epperson's model Matar wanted an orange, punk, flowing, tiger dress. Thankfully, he took pieces and translated it correctly.

Tim announces that this is the first one-day challenge. This group has it easy; season five's first four challenges were all one-day. They probably wanted to make sure Johnny didn't have another mental breakdown and quit.Continue reading Project Runway: What a Girl Wants
