Like most shorts, they have very little time to prove their worth. This short does exactly that and very well too. Amy Jenkins has managed to write a totally surreal work that is mixed with that of normal people. A couple are living together with an ex of the boyfriend. They start to row about her being around, all the time, not noticing a baby elephant lying on their kitchen table. Everybody else sees it except for them. Emilia Fox is by far one of the best English actresses around and this was a great short for her to do. Why she hasn't been picked up to star in bigger features is beyond me though all of her TV offerings have been great, especially Stephen Poliakoff's Shooting The Past. On the matter of the direction of Blink, Amy Jenkins seemed to know exactly what she was doing and showed great experience when using the elephant as a prop as well as a character in it's own right. This is also one of the best short film made in recent years and definitely worth keeping an eye open for.
