  • Filmed in 2001 and not released to US theaters until 2003.

  • Filmed entirely in Cologne, Germany and on a cruise ship out of Athens, Greece. The ship cruised the Mediterranean for ten days while filming and stopped in Alexandria, Istanbul and Rhodes. The island scenes were filmed on the isle of Hydra in Greece.

  • Production Designer Charles Breen built the staterooms, hallways and bridge for the cruise ship on a sound stage in Cologne, Germany.

  • When the two girls from the Swedish Sun Tanning Team and the Hawaiian Tropic Team argue, they really do speak Swedish. The subtitles, however, don't have anything to do with what is actually said.

  • Will Ferrell and Artie Lange were supposed to kiss in their scene but Lange refused to do it.
