We watched the DVD with English subtitles. Michael Wong was really good. Somewhere in the character of an Hong Kong Michael Douglas or Chow Yun Fat. The story was a bit too simple for my spoiled American taste. But Michael was sympathetic and easy to watch, understated and human. CK, Janis, and other leads were well cast. Editorially, the story should have been FASTER! - should have been 90 minutes but a sharp editor could have nailed it at 85. The filmed image, DVD resolution, and cinematography were all good. Music bed was at times right on, other times lost in the mix. Action, camera placement, locations were all respectable for a 1.2mil cop thriller shot on the streets of Hong Kong. But there was a kind of friendly TV, clean looking, soft spoken quality to the script and performances- I wish it had been grittier, harsher or tougher.
