Delving Deep Into the Ordinary, 14 July 2002
2/10
Author: jacknchicken from Norman, Oklahoma

You can tell that director Sean Lorton aspires to be not just a Hollywood filmmaker, but an incredibly average Hollywood filmmaker. Ghost of the Red Rose, winner of the Oklahoma Territory Film Council's annual IndieFest for 2002, is predictable at every turn. The heroine, Rachel works at a library in Tulsa and, oh no, there's a killer on the loose. Every female employee must be escorted to their car and suffer trite and typical chastising from a beefy rent-a-cop. But Rachel sees an image of a cape-wearing ghost from a couple of centuries ago who we later find out is looking for an old love, and I'm pretty sure you can figure the rest out. It does look good for something made in Oklahoma, but it sounds like it was written by, well, someone in Oklahoma.
