I had heard a great deal about Blood - The Last Vampire, but was unaware about the story or what it was about but still went ahead without any reservations to watch it.
Although I wasn't too disappointed with the film my only complaint was the fact that it was a little too short as I'm sure it could have stretched over better as a full length feature rather than clocking in under an hour.
The animation is really a sight to behold. Though 5 years old now, it seems as if it was only made yesterday making a huge significance in digital animation. This is further explored in the new updated version of Appleseed which is also another eye-opener in Japananimation too.
What makes me hugely grateful about Manga is the fact that there "out-of-this-world" ideas work best in the animation field before being converted as a live-action piece. Nonetheless this is still a worthy animation piece to check out as you'll not be too disappointed in the result despite the fact that it maybe a little short.
An interesting trivia was that the main character, Saya's look was based on the same concept incorporated for Chiaki Kuriyama (Battle Royale) in Tarantino's Kill Bill which works pretty well from a comical standpoint. Maybe some of you are aware of this or not?
Go See despite the shortness.
