Anachronisms: In the scene with Leonard and Virginia at the train station, an electronic display can briefly be seen hanging from the roof above Leonard's head.
Continuity: In Clarissa's first visit to Richard's apartment, she gathers up some garbage and then drops the bags on the floor. Later when she opens the apartment door to leave, the garbage bags are already outside the apartment in the hall.
Continuity: Clarissa's scarf and necklace when she is packing up the garbage in Richard's apartment.
Continuity: During the bird burial, Virginia places all of the yellow roses on the bird's grave except one. The next time we see her she has 3 roses.
Continuity: Prior to Clarissa's party setup there are plain-backed folding chairs stacked against wall near the front door. After the party has been setup all of the chairs have bamboo backs.
Continuity: Richie Brown has flour on his right cheek from his sifting it which disappears between shots.
Continuity: The bag of flour in the background when Laura Brown is talking to Kitty at the coffee table.
Continuity: When Laura starts driving with Richie, the tops of the trees in their street are lit dimly sideways, as if the sun is rising or setting. The previous events however suggest it should be around noon. In the next shot, when they arrive at mrs. Nash's house, the sun drops a hard and short shadow, more appropriate to the time of day.
Continuity: When Laura's son is sitting at the table with his breakfast in front of him, his glass is empty in one shot and then full of orange juice in the next.
Continuity: When Louis Waters visits Clarrisa Vaughn, she gives him water with ice and a lemon, in later shots you see neither a lemon or ice, and later you see just a lemon and no ice.
Factual errors: When Laura picks up Mrs. Dalloway from the floor next to her bed, there are six novels in total. Two of the other books are 'Melbourne' by Lord David Cecil and 'Under the Net' by Iris Murdoch, both literary classics. The only problem is she could never have read them: both books were published in 1954.
Anachronisms: In the scene where Mr. Woolf follows Virginia to the train station, on the platform of the station is a very visible modern TV style monitor in the upper left frame. This could not have been possible in 1923 England.
Continuity: Richard yells by the window, "Don't come near me!!" and, holding the handle, points his cane at Clarissa. In the very next shot, he's holding the other end of the cane with the handle is being pointed at Clarissa.
Continuity: In the last scene between Laura and Dan, when Dan is lying on the bed and talking to Laura in the bathroom, we see a pack of cigarettes and a light on the night table. In some shots the lighter is next to the pack and in others it's on top.
Continuity: In the scene where Louis Waters mentions to Clarissa he read the book, he holds it open, we cut to Clarissa talking, and then we cut back to Louis. If you look very closely, you can tell they're combining different takes of Louis because his holding the book open to a different page in one shot vs. the other.
