Jake Kasdan's father, Lawrence Kasdan, also wrote the screenplays for Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983). John Lithgow played Yoda in the National Public Radio adaptation of the films.

Goofs:

Continuity: When Don Durkett moves to get close to Shaun while Shaun is seated on the couch, Ashley is on Shaun's right. When the shot switches to show the shot over Shaun's shoulder, Ashley is on his left. The next shot, she's back on his right.
