There are only three horror movie hosts I've ever really liked: Joel
Robinson,Mike Nelson and the girl with the big......talent,Elvira. She
made
the horror movie host segments new again with her larger than life figure
and her snappy and hilarious wisecracks during commercial breaks
(unfortunately, not to the movie). Elvira set the standard for everyone
else
and sometimes even broke it in her zeal to become the matron goddess of
Halloween. I don't know how many movies she ran, or as the case may be,
scurried across her sofa, as she curled up or stretched out in her hostess
segments, but she did find a way to make herself the star of her
so-bad-its-good horror marathons. Cheers to Elvira for the show, and the
wonderful mammaries,I mean memories.

Why was this ever cancelled ? It was so wonderful as it tended to cross
the ground that Mike and the Bots feared to tread on. Elvira was the Queen
of the Horror Hostesses. They'll never be another one like her unless we
figure out cloning! On the other hand, if monster movies have taught me
anything, we don't need any fifty foot Elvira clones running around
loose.

In reply to the last post, the title of the movie with the girl riding
the bicycle who's back tire is bumped by a car following her, is
"Schizoid". I have it on VHS, taped from TV on Elvira Movie Macabre
many years ago. The movie is about a killer who does his victims in
with a pair of scissors. I have other episodes of Elvira on tape too.
And am looking for more. Mine have been converted to DVD and look
great. By far, my favorite movie shown on Elvira was "Mark of the
Devil", which actually is a great movie, just not appreciated by the
mainstream. I have found that many movies that appeared on Elvira,
still are not available any other way, no DVD and no VHS either.

Hi,
I remember back in the early 80s when I was still a kid, there was a
movie shown and I think it was on the Elvira TV show. My parents
happened to stop on it, and the movie that was shown had a girl riding
a bicycle and this car was chasing her, bumping the tire of the bike.
Do any of you know which movie I am referring and if it was even shown
on Elvira's show? I was about 9 or 10 maybe and have always wondered
what the name of the movie was. Also, is the old series being shown
anywhere anymore?
