Tenchu 2 is my favorite in the series. It really kicks it up a notch, and becomes an immerse experience. The game revolves around three different ninjas from the Azuma Ninja Clan, Rikimaru, Ayame, and Tatsumaru. While each character has there own unique levels, the story line is the same, just as seen through their point of view. Each character has their own dealings with the Burning Dawn, a ninja cult led by Lady Kagami and the Four Lords who wish to create a world ruled by ninja. Rikimaru is on a mission to restore Honor to Gohda, which later turns into a mission of vengeance. Ayame is a confused youngster who isn't sure what she wants, but is looking for vengeance and to save her love. Tatsumaru is the newly appointed leader of the Azuma Ninja, and falls victim to memory loss, causing him to be tricked into joining the Burning Dawn. The game is fantastic. Let me break it down.
Graphics: While not the best, the graphics are done well enough. Blotchy, but the characters have their own unique look. The environment doesn't look awesome, but, it can be overlooked.
Sound: The game sounds great. Voices are good, sounds of combat are also very well done. Sound has never been a problem in the Tenchu games. There could have been more in-game music, but the music during the cut scenes is great.
Controls: While annoying and boxy at first, once practiced, they become easy to work with. Combat can be a little difficult, but hey, who wants perfection anyway?
Gameplay: Very nicely done. Interactive, and the story really keeps you going. Very high replay value. A solid stealth/action game. A treat for ninja fans.
Violence: Hoo-hoo! This is the bloodiest game in the series. Blood gushes and splatters all over the place. Decapitations and severed limbs reveal extra gore. But, it doesn't look real, so, it's not sickening.
Sexual Content: Suggestive. The outfits are definitely revealing. Nothing to worry about though.
Overall: This is the best game in the series. The story is great. It just keeps you coming back for more. Never repetitive, and just great. Go out and grab a copy today. 9/10 out and buy it today!
