Good, but has some flaws, 21 February 2006
7/10

When I was watching Adult Swim, I noticed that they were going to give a short animated film named "Boo Boo Runs Wild" at 1 A.M. Curious as to what it was, I looked it up on IMDb, which obviously led me here. I read the reviews, and the concept interested me, so I decided to stay up and watch it. I could definitely say I enjoyed it.

Yogi Bear (Stephen Worth) and Boo Boo Bear (John Kricfalusi) go out to engage in "Bear type activities" but are tormented by Ranger Smith's (Corey Burton) excessive and mostly pointless rules. Boo Boo becomes so frustrated that he goes into a feral state and goes breaking every rule he can find. Yogi Bear, who at first believes that Boo Boo will go back to normal, eventually has no choice but to go to Ranger Smith for help.

This film could probably be described as "The Yogi Bear Show on an acid trip." It was quite humorous, and I would most certainly like to watch it's predecessor, "A Day in the Life of Ranger Smith." There are many strange aspects that are "so weird they're funny" such as when Ranger Smith tells the bears to put on some clothes (in which he looks almost completely different from how he looks in other scenes).

However, there are a few flaws that prevent it from getting a perfect 10 in my book. For starters, the film is a bit too short, and could have been at least a tad bit longer. Another flaw is that it has somewhat of a slow start, and starts getting good once Boo Boo enters the feral state. Other than that, it is a great short film and I recommend it.

Grade: B (Sweet)
