I read the earlier comment, and I could not help but post a response. Although I do agree that the experiment was hard to watch, and was probably hard to experience, imagine having to go through this everyday of your life. It is hard to understand discrimination until one has experienced it for oneself. It is especially hard for white people in America to understand the trauma of it. A black child may face racism and discrimination everyday of his/her life, and if this experiment means that those children will grow up better understanding their experience, as I think the documentary proved, then her lesson has been well learned.
As a documentary, however, I was left unsatisfied. I feel as though the director did not have enough personal interviews with the children and the adults that went through the experience. I did not feel he was able to connect with the children as he should have. However, the experiment itself is so fascinating, I give A Class Divided eight stars.
