9 July 2009 9:42 PM, PDT | From Hitfix.com | See recent Hitfix news

Thursday (July 9) was Get To Know Your Guinea Pigs Night, as the 11th installment of "Big Brother" began on CBS. It's a new season of "Hermano Grande," and as with every new season of "Hermano Grande," it promises to be the season where the rules have all changed, where the strategy is brand new, where anything can happen. But beloved host Julie Chen left no doubt from the beginning why this season of "Big Brother" is different from all other seasons, teasing, "Whether you're expecting the unexpected or just... expecting...." Then she coyly glanced down at her own midsection.  Get...

Big Brother 11 Contestant Laura Is Lookin To Clean House

7 July 2009 9:00 PM, PDT | From OnTheFlix | See recent OnTheFlix news

In Laura Crosby's realitywanted.com interview she stated she's not looking to get into any showmances or let her feelings and emotions get involved. She's quite simply looking to clean house and win that $500,000. She like the other contestants gave a little background about herself, and sorry fellas she has a boyfriend. She talked about what her strategy will be . She said season 8 was her favorite season, she loved Evil Dick. She said Brian from season 10 would be an easy target for her. "He played a stupid game." Mostly what I gathered from this interview, especially at the end is that she thinks a lot of past Big Brother 10 contestants are really stupid.

A Big Brother 11 Contestant Took A Pie in The Face

5 July 2009 8:07 PM, PDT | From OnTheFlix | See recent OnTheFlix news

Well, a Big Brother 11 Media Day contestant did, anyways. Back on June 19,2009, CBS put on a Big Brother 11 Media Day where people from the media got to test out the house, and go through a full season of "Big Brother" in like 12 hours, lol !!! One of them was Jen Johnson from Big Brother 8. She was kinda nuts, but she did have a nice bod. In the video (below), they participated in a Pov (Power Of Veto) game which consisted of pies. They had to deliver pies across these mini clouds, and the team who finished delivering all the pies first, had to throw a pie in their teammate's face.

"Big Brother 11" casts a bisexual make-up artist

2 July 2009 12:00 PM, PDT | From AfterEllen.com | See recent AfterEllen.com news

The cast for Big Brother 11 has just been revealed, and it includes the first queer woman since 2005, when the Cuban-American contestant Ivette was part of Big Brother 6. This season, 24-year-old, tattooed bisexual Lydia Tavera joins the house, which has apparently been systematically divided into cliques. (Thanks to Jam13 for the tip!)

The show's executive producer Allison Grodner said in a recent interview:

We have cast people in groups or cliques from the popular kids to the brainiacs to the athletes to the off-beat. ... You may have graduated, but the truth is we never leave high school and this summer we are going to prove it. Let's take a guess which category the young, hip make-up artist Lydia is supposed to fall under.

The Torrance, California native has the pleasure of being the only queer woman on Big Brother in the U.S., while the U.K. version currently has three (Lisa,

2 July 2009 12:26 AM, PDT | From Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news

Relatively young contestants are gathered for the 11th edition of "Big Brother", with the oldest one being 41-year-old. Twelve strangers with different personalities will have to stand each other when they live under one roof for a number of days. A 13th mysterious guest will be added later to give an advantage to one of the cliques.

This time the House Guests will learn that they will be 'kickin it old school' way, high school to be exact. They will be shocked to learn that they will play the game in one of four familiar high school cliques - popular, athletes, brainiacs and off beats. They will compete for food, safety from eviction and luxury prizes as part of their clique.

"You may have graduated, but the truth is we never leave high school and this summer we are going to prove it," said Executive Producer Allison Grodner. "From the

Big Brother 11</i>" style="margin:0 5px 5px" />CBS has announced (most) of the 13 houseguests who will be competing for the $500,000 grand prize on Big Brother 11 this summer.

Host Julie Chen made the reveal on CBS' Early Show, but only introduced 12 players. The remaining mystery guest — which the blogosphere suggests will be a player from a past season — will be announced July 7, two days before the show's premiere.

Check out photos of the Big Brother 11 houseguests

The cast is relatively young (the oldest contestant is a 41-year-old school teacher/DJ) and features the usual suspects: a buxom blonde, a beefy jock, an edgy type (tattoos!) and a bikini model. But this might also be ...

A 12 Minute Preview Of Ronald D. Moore’s ‘Virtuality’

18 June 2009 9:22 PM, PDT | From ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news

Virtuality was an idea that Universal Media Studios shopped around.  After communicating with several writers, they hit on Ronald D. Moore’s take on their idea. They shopped the idea to NBC, but in all its wisdom, NBC said it was too much “science fiction” for their network.  It was right after this that Fox snatched up the project.  The rest is history.  Sort of.

As we’ve mentioned before, this was going to originally be a pilot episode for on ongoing series but Fox backed out on the series idea and turned the effort into a 2-hour movie instead.

So what if Ronald D. Moore and Michael Taylor just brought us the most intense space drama ever put together called Battlestar Galactica.  Fox just didn’t have the faith.  Much like the first half of season one of Dollhouse.  Need I say more?

So for the moment they’re

Queer Women in the House on UK's "Big Brother 10"

7 June 2009 7:10 PM, PDT | From AfterEllen.com | See recent AfterEllen.com news

L to R: Lisa, Angel and Saffia

The popular voyeuristic reality series Big Brother is back for its tenth season in the UK, this time with queer female contestants. One of the UK's more visible television programs, at least according to tabloid coverage, the return of the series last week attracted around half a million viewers.

The format of Big Brother 10 — which is based on the series of the same name developed in the Netherlands, and airs on Channel 4 in the UK, E4 in Ireland, and S4C in Wales — is consistent with previous seasons, and with the U.S. version: 16 participants compete over 13 weeks to win a cash prize.

These "Housemates" of different ages and backgrounds are incarcerated in the Big Brother House (with no contact with the outside world), required to compete in weekly challenges for various rewards, and voted out by their fellow housemates one-by-one each week.

Tvgrapevine.com recently got a chance to give Robyn Kass of Kassting Inc. which is the casting company and director of Big Brother 11,a 15 minute interview. She talked about how the promo dept has nothing to do with what really goes on behind the scenes, so the promo commercials are just a lot of hype. She also states that this year's contestants that she interviewed were great, and are some of the best characters she's seen. She says the contestants that come in, really know the game, and come in with a game plan already set. They spoke about how what they saw from Dan Gheesling (Big Brother 10 Winner) last year was what they expected to see. The way he interviewed was exactly the way he was in the house, and that he's very intelligent.

The show started back in 2004 during the "Big Brother 5" season and was then hosted by Gretchen Massey and Marcellas Reynolds from "Big Brother 3". The two of them hosted it for two seasons. Then after that, Gretchen hosted it with other houseguests from past shows. The show had become very popular on the internet, and drew a large crowd of online viewers who would call in and give their opinions. Gretchen would also have an interview with each houseguest that got evicted each week which was a real highlight for fans of the show.
