The killer is based on a real-life female serial killer named Jane Toppan (1857-1938) a Boston-born nurse whom murdered at least 30 people (mostly hospital patients) in the New England area from the mid-1880s to 1901.

Not too shabby...

...But I only saw the movie for Chris Ryan (Caligari). As a huge fan of his midday show I figured he would translate well in his first role. I thought so - but I'm just biased. =)

The movie wasn't excellent, nor was it horrible - just middle of the road. I watched it with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised.
