After a very promising opening scene at a dance, which was reminiscent of classic 80s slash flicks and an awesome sequence in a morgue- the flick kind of went down hill. It was way too talkie with the most unlikable character in movie history, granted they were easy on the eyes, but they made me wanna kill them myself. There were many boring talky parts in between slashings that really didn't need to be there. When I see a slash flick I wanna see slash damn it, not talk. The flick also needed some comic relief in the worst way, it tried and failed miserably at humor. It was a good idea that could have been alot better if they:
1. Cut out the boring talkie parts 2. Added some comic relief 3. Added in a few more slashings 4. Added a little T&A 5. Had more elaborate slashings 6. Put a little more emphasis on Valentines Day 7. Was set in a small town 8. Totally cut out the pretentious art gallery and artist guy crap.
The movie had a good idea, a cool killer disguise, and totally cut out the whole 30 minute motive explanation when the killer is revealed at the end which is in so many slash flicks, BIG PROPS! But could have been much better. A slash fan will probably have a good time since there isn't alot of new slash flicks out now, but don't expect too much.
