Although not as good as the original, but then what sequel is? The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea is still as funny, and the music is still great. It's fantastic that Disney managed to get the majority of the original cast back, such as Jodi Benson as Ariel, Samuel E. Wright as Sebastian and Buddy Hackett as Scuttle. Unfortunately Christopher Daniel Barnes didn't return to the role of Eric, but Rob Paulsen did a pretty good job. When I first heard about the film being made, I was skeptical, as I didn't see much leeway for the production, but Disney has proved me wrong. The film is full of achievements, such as the great music and comical lines. Scuttle is still as funny and the chaos between Sebastian and Louie is brilliant, the characters haven't changed, which is brilliant. The animation is pretty good, but then the original was made with the Xerography system (hand drawn, hand painted), but the sequel colored with the new CAPS system (using computers). The film is great, but nothing will replace the original (which in my opinion is the greatest film ever made). It's second best to the original.
