_Pledge, The (2001)_ on DVD from Warner is a mighty good looking DVD. Close to reference quality.
The film master used is very clean and steady.
Color and contrast rendition are state of the art. Images are sharp. It does get sharper, but the disc makes up for the missing last bit by presenting a very smooth film-like image with almost no aliasing at all.
The noise and grain level is low and the compression solid.
If there is a slight problem with this transfer it's the edge enhancement that adds a bit of white outlines to edges in some scenes. It's not bad, but at this quality level it becomes the weak point in the overall presentation. There is also very minor noise reduction visible a couple of times.
This is a very good looking DVD that will please on any kind of quality display. Highly recommended.
