In Burkittsville, Maryland, the success of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT has created a big boom in tourism. Among those eager to check out the legend are ex-mental case tour guide Jeff (Jeffrey Donovan), pot-smoking, beer guzzling goth girl Kim (Kim Director), wiccan witch Erica (the very nice-looking Erica Leerhsen), yuppie Stephen (Stephen Barker Turner) and his pregnant girlfriend Tristen (Tristen Skyler).
After a night of hard partying on a supposedly cursed site, the five wake up with their camp destroyed, having blacked out for five hours, then return to Jeff's house to try to piece together the missing hours of the preceeding evening. This leads to revelations involving ghosts, an orgy, vicious cult-like murders and maybe even The Blair Witch herself.
Quick cut editing and gore are no substitute for real scares and suspense (a lesson the director should have learned in viewing the original), but this has a few interesting moments, adding to the Blair Witch mythology and all. However, some of the performances are pretty poor and it completely falls apart by the end. The best thing is the soundtrack, including Marilyn Manson's opening "Disposable Teens," System of a Down, Elastica, Queens of the Stone Age, Rob Zombie, Poe, P.O.D. and At the Drive-In.
