At one point, WCW Saturday Night was the flagship program of World Championship Wrestling. When WCW introduced its groundbreaking weekly live primetime show Monday Nitro (and later its Thursday show Thunder), Saturday Night slowly became a show featuring WCW's up-and-comers and mid-card talent. In 2000, WCW Saturday Night was reduced to nothing more than a weekly recap show, had its timeslot moved to early in the day, and became WCW Saturday Morning. Saturday night is basically a show that recaps the events that took place on WCW Nitro and Thunder. Top superstars such as Bret"Hitman"Hart, Goldberg and the "Chosen one"Jeff Jarrett etc are never booked to appear on the show. Instead the show recaps what happened the previous week with Terry Taylor and Larry Zybsko. Entertaining - but nowhere near the quality of Nitro or Thunder.
