Monday night was set aside to sit together as a family and watch Hope Island. A clean, warm, funny, thought-provoking show is a rare find in this day and age. My entire family misses it and that includes my parents, my 19 year-old sister, and grandma and grandpa! Will some other network please get a hold of this show and keep it going? We were avid watchers of Due South as well and it was a hit in Canada. This is done in Canada, so I'm hoping that they will do whatever revamping is necessary to re-air the show. Please, bring it back as soon as possible!

Hope Island was the best show that I have ever seen. I was very upset at the cancellation of it by PAX tv. This show was a big part of my life. I always watched it and have a part in the Bring Hope back To Our Homes Campaign. Help us Hope Fans and other fans. In Canada, Showcase is re-airing reruns of the show at night, so if you are in Canada, ask you local t.v. company if you can or do get it. We have done everything, and now it's time for you to help us. You can read Fan Fiction written by us fans, and share you comments and stories. Hope Island fans untie and help us bring Hope back to our homes!

I am not a big TV fan. And, I highly recommend Hope Island for anyone who is tired of the usual network programming. Hope Island is a refreshing alternative to shows that pass for programming on most networks. Hope Island makes up for it's lack of violence, gratuitous sex, mean spirited humor, and offensive scripts with a cast of lovable and believable characters.I find myself rooting for the `good guys' who seem to struggle with the same questions in life that I struggle with. In a few short episodes, I have formed an attachment to and affection for the characters on Hope Island. In addition, the show is especially well crafted. For those of you who find the sloppy production that is the norm offensive, Hope Island is a treat. I am especially impressed with the sound editing. I am constantly amazed by the subtle and effective use of sound in Hope Island to convey just the right mood for the scene.

I am so excited about this show. I just started watching it a few weeks ago on Vision TV - in Canada. I absolutely love it! I find the characters interesting and the story line great. It is hard to find shows on TV that are free of swearing, adultery, drugs, etc. This is a great show for the whole family. It is funny, moving, and it has captured my attention. My 11 year old son even likes it. It is easy, relaxing, and a nice break from the other shows out there. Watching it I find I can almost enter their world and forget about all the stresses of my own life. When the show is over I always feel refreshed and uplifted. The acting by all the characters is great. Each character portrays different personalities.
Best show in a long time, 6 January 2009 Author: uschi0762 from Canada
This show is one of the best I've ever watched. I accidentally found it one morning on Vision TV when i was off work sick and afterward I taped it every day so as not to miss it and then all of a sudden it was gone! I'm saddened and disappointed that television continues to air brain dead "reality" shows (demonstrating that people who write television no longer have any imagination)and programming full of violence and sexual content and yet removes a family show from the air. This is a show that even my husband enjoyed. He has a military background and loves anything army, western or cop so think about it. This was a show that everyone (regardless of age or gender) could enjoy together. I can't begin to count the number of times I've heard people complain about how people in general today have no values or respect, how society is becoming more violent, how sexualized everything is. Does no one wonder how it got to be this way? Why do we remove shows that have wonderful, endearing, REAL characters who emulate good, strong, ethical values, who struggle with everyday problems in a humorous, non violent, non sexualized way and replace them with everything we say we abhor? It's not like I am a person who is looking to censor everything that is vaguely naughty or one who won't watch the occasional movie that contains gratuitous violence. I enjoy NCIS and Criminal Minds but I have to admit, I truly miss the shows of my youth where it was about PEOPLE and CHARACTERS and everyday struggles and the resiliency of the human spirit and caring about others. I am truly disappointed in PAX's decision to take this show from the air. It's a Canadian show that I was truly proud of. I would love it if they would bring it back. Is there anyway to get a DVD of this series to the point it left off?
What the heck happened, 30 November 2008 Author: ozzy1915 from Canada
I have watched every single episode a few times now and I would still watch it all over again in a heart beat as it has everything a family could want. Why oh why are all the good shows...NO great shows like Hope put out to pasture. Maybe the following at first was not great but now there is a following so why can it not be brought back. Lord knows there is very little on the air worth watching. If the producers do come by these sites then to them I say consider bringing it back as many people love this show. Before my Mother passed away she loved watching Hope Island and she was so upset when it was canceled. The setting on Vancouver Island was the perfect choice and I hope one day to visit the place of filming.
It was cancelled because it wasn't sexy enough!!!, 15 June 2008 Author: roshanai2000 from Canada
I think the show was cancelled because the ratings might have been very low. It is unfortunately a fact that a show MUST include severe sexually explicit images, or language, or anything provoking sex, to have high ratings. We can see that shows like Murray have been going on for years and years and have not been cancelled. Unfortunately, the majority of the TV's audience (which spend a lot of time watching TV weekly) include people with less demanding jobs. Depending on the job level, you can have a general idea of what amuses that certain population more. The higher the level of one's job's difficulty, less time they have, and their taste of movies are different. Clean, nice, calm, family oriented series, doesn't get enough watchers to earn its costs!!! Unless it involves some kind of violence or cruelty, or any fight scene, no matter for the good or evil cause. Like The Last Sammurai, which was a great movie, but did not sell enough. The earnings were mostly due to fight scenes, and not the beauty of the movie as a whole.
Hope Island was a very good program, 31 August 2006 Author: sam ******* from Canada

My comments of Hope Island are very good. I haven't found a TV show that I had enjoyed like Touched by an Angel until Hope Island came around. I don't comment on any other programs so this is saying a lot. I didn't see Hope Island when it was on its regular TV run. I have caught it of course where else but in re-runs. In Canada where I live I watch it on the W network and on Vision TV. Every morning I can't wait until 8 am to watch it and if I can't see it I am usually taping it. I am curious which was the last episode? The last I seen was the one where Daniel Cooper's father shows up and asks him to come home to help him run the family business. Did I miss the last episode? Did Alex and Daniel finally get together? It would really be great if they would bring it back as it was a good television series and it was a program you could have everyone in your family watch without worry! Hope Island was a program that was unique. Watching it brought a feeling like one could relate or that it was a "real" community unlike other programs on TV.
Great show!, 21 August 2006 Author: northword from Canada
This show is truly excellent! I never saw "Ballykissangel," which it was based on, but I really like this show. Not only is the scenery beautiful, but the story lines are good & the acting makes things seem real & Hope Island really seems like the kind of community in which I could live. It's too bad that such a good show couldn't have lasted longer! Not all the stars have been seen much, but each one is featured at one time or another, and each one also does a great job of bringing his/her character to life. Even though the show is primarily about Reverend Cooper, not all the stories are focused on him. Yet his relationships to each of the main characters and others are portrayed well and are clearly seen.
